Modeling composites printed on professional glossy card stock photo paper formatted and printed with your little one's stats and contact information only $100 for 30. You send up to 4 clear photos including headshot, full body, 1/2 body or quater body 4 different looks. Include a headshot for sure, and then one product style, one active shot, and one shot that shows size (no swimwear or nudity) think something appropriate for a little kid. For my daughter I have a b/w headshot, then onein overalls or denim is always cute. One dressy shot, and then one fun and wacky shot in piggy tails or something.

I work for New York State's consumer protection agency, the New York State Consumer Protection Board.

I see on this forum that a number of parents have had bad experiences with Aquarian and its Great American Model Search.

I recently left you a message reguarding your post. I am willing to address you and these posts that are left by people that did not receive what they thought was a fair deal. Not all children will succeed in this business, but you have to start some where. I am very satifisfied in all of Tyler's accomplishments. And I would like to let everyone know who takes the time to look at things with open eyes that Tyler has also filmed new commercials, and will be reading next week for a feature film. He also filmed the television show, General Hospital. And yes, he is a real child, with real pictures to prove it. Just keep a look out and his Mercedes Benz and Sea world commercials run daily so his little face is very visible in the television market. Please feel free to call me john as i have left my number for you.

Ms. Davis, you and your son are to be congratulated on your success, but I think you're missing the point of the posts here, or at least the point I feel that should be made.

A question I have for you is, do you think that Tyler would have been successful if he had gone to another talent agency? I have a feeling that your response to that would be "yes", since he appears to be a very talented child.

And that's the point.

In this industry, for the most part, either you have "it", or you don't. Most professionals in the modeling business agree that school is useless--either you're a fashion model or you aren't. And if you're not at least 5'7" (female) or 6'2" (male), no amount of classes are going to help you get work. You just aren't the right "type".

And the difference is this:

A real, legitimate talent agent will honestly tell you if you "have it" or not. Free of charge. No obligation.

A "modeling management company" will take anyone, talented or not.

A real, legitimate talent agent only gets paid when you get work, so they have a real vested interest in your success. If you are signed by a legitimate agent, you KNOW you have potential.

A "modeling management company" makes its money from classes and photo shoots. They have no reason to make sure that you succeed in the business. You don't have to have any potential at all in order to be accepted by one of these companies. All you have to have is money.

As I have said before, as long as you keep things in perspective, and be realistic, there is nothing intrinsically wrong with these "modeling management companies". Just be aware that they are not in business to get you jobs and help you "make it" in show business. You can learn a lot about etiquette, personal care and beauty, etc. The unfortunate thing is that these companies give people who have no potential the impression that they are going to be highly-successful and highly-paid models or actors. And they pay tons of money to make this impossible dream come true. The better "model management companies" make it clear that all they are doing is offering self-improvement classes, and if opportunities come along, fine. The worst ones play on the hopes and dreams of people with stars in their eyes, just to get their money.

Again, congratulations on Tyler's success. His is every kid's dream come true. But I just have the feeling that, with his natural talent and your support, he would have been successful no matter who he went with. And, for most people, a legitimate agent is the quickest and cheapest route to determine your potential in the industry.

Thank you in response to Tyler's success. I do not think that Tyler would have had the same success if I had not of taken Tyler to this Model & Talent Search. This company provided me a way to maximize the exposure that Tyler could get. In one weekend Tyler saw about 35 different people in the entertainment industry. He was able to see National markets and also local markets at one time. I find that the service they provide is exceptional. Tyler has signed with numerous agents from the search and is very fortunate to have been chosen for the event. As a parent I am more than greatful for the outcome of the event. And the Aquarian Staff are very professional.
Yes, Tyler does have a lot of natural talent. I do think that he was born for the profession, but as a parent at the time I needed a better and more efficient way to get Tyler exposure. I could not have taken Tyler to see all the people that he saw in one day myself. This company is not a school, but it will help you if needed.
Aquarian provides a very high quality professional service to parents who like me needed a better way to accomplish as much as possible with as little funds as possible. This way is a personal choice and if you choose it, maybe your dreams could come true. But in reality no dreams will come true unless you try something.

Just wondering, how much money did you pay in order for Tyler to see all of these agents and get all of that exposure? I am interested because I am thinking of taking my daughters to an open call with this particular agency and if it's money they want, I don't want to waste my time.

National Discovery Network is not a modeling agency. It is a "middle man" who's mission is to get "potential" models to a specific location to meet with different modeling agencies. You as a parent must pay $495.00 to register so that they may participate in a RUNWAY walk through, and a COMMERCIAL like audition. You are asked to provide 2 pictures of your child in the form of slides so that it can be shown while the child does the RUNWAY walk through. As a parent it is your responsibility to get your child to the convention (in my case it was being held in South Carolina)
and you must also pay for the hotel room (probably another $200-$300). We were told we would need to be there for the entire weekend. We decided not to participate because we were given one day to decided if we wanted to register and of course, nothing was guaranteed.

I fear you have been taken. It never costs money and most parents with working kids do their own comps. Kids don't need anything but a good clear digital photo. No agency forces you to use their people. I'd suggest checking or filing a complaint and NO WAY do not pay $30 a month. I'd even otify your states attorney general.

My son was one of the children picked at the convention center held in Myrtle Beach, SC. I attended the call back meeting that informed me of all the aspects concerning his eligibility and the fine print. I have been looking on the internet for all possible information concerning this company. So far, I have found very little. The only thing that I have found is that they are a member of the Better Business Bureau in PA, which is the only thing that could be considered good, everything else has been negative. They want $495.00 for my son to participate. (Within 24 hours) I have choosen not to go further, but I am still very curious as to it's authenticity. For instance, has anyone checked into a business license? Or if this business is as bad as what it seems then how can it exist. At $500 a pop, I don't see why a person can't pay someone to put their child in an add or commercial. I just don't understand what they are. If they are not an agency and do not imply that then what kind of business are they. What kind of business can charge that kind of money, but can not guarentee results if there isn't a call back after the $500 weekend. Why not a money back guarantee. Someone help explain some things.

I went to the meeting they had and there we found out about the convention and the money due $395.00 per child, plus slides, which are about $200.00 per child.
Has anyone had any experiences with this company? Please reply! Thanks!!

I contacted the Pa department of labor after my child was chosen by National Discovery Network and was informed the company has several complaints and does not have a license. The department of labor states "No employment agent shall charge a registration fee."It clearly states on the form NDN gives you at their seminar that there is a $395.00 registration fee.Call the Pa department of labor at (717)787-4134 and talk to Linda.

A nationally syndicated television show is looking for parents who feel that they are being unfairly judged as stage parents? Do you have a talented child that sings dances or acts and you are trying to get them into show business?

Are family and friends constantly judging you because you know that your child is a star and you will do whatever it takes? Have you spent long hours and lots of money to get your child into show business? Do you family and friends think it’s a waste of money? If you would like the chance to talk about this issue with your friends and family on our show, Please contact me at beontv2008@yahoo.com. Please send a current picture of your self and your child and any specifics on your story. I will respond back to you email ASAP.

Be careful about sending your kids info & photo. Most REAL tv shows have a company email like soinso@nbc.com NOT a free yahoo and they ALWAY leave a company number or producer name.

Besides you may want to try a pageant board, those are true psychos and they love to talk about themselves.

Never use any pageant photographers or those crappy digital artists to do a child's headshots. Get yourself a decent digital camera. You need so many current photos it is a waste of money and agencies and casting directors don't want to see over done photos of children looking like hookers. They want kids captured to look like kids.

Reading some of these messages, I get the feeling that NO agency can be trusted.

I took my daughter to a search given by National Discovery Network. We received a letter and tonight I went to the open house. Yep, at the end we were told about a convention in Myrtle Beach in Nov. For $395 we can attend this convention and yadda-yadda.

I'd like to know if anyone knows about this company, please. The BBB doesn't show complaints but one poster says that Pa has the worst BBB in the nation.

You want to believe but you hate to lose $400, you know?

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Just wanted to see if you did end up going to the myrtle beach convention. I did. It was ok. Im not willing to pay for it again though. My son did get a call back. They could have handled things a little bit differently I think cause to me it seemed like a really big mess. I had fun being at the beach and hanging out with the family and we did get a LOT of information, but they could have done things in a more professional way.
