The thing about most good Science fiction is that it sparks the imagination. In Dune there is nothing in the science that hinders this. If I want a fantasy I will read a comic book or watch Star Wars or something. I can let go of any preconception as long as I'm ready for a fun ride. I never said I didn't enjoy the B.Jihad. I just have a problem with it's science in relationship to the Dune future. Did I ever say the tech behind a transporter would be easy. No. Only that it is concievable. And the Force? Who knows what the mind will be able to do in the future. Telepathy could become reality. Most good Science Fiction writers don't try to skirt the issue of space flight. They will build or create things that are at least interesting or in theory feasable. In the B. Jihad( wich is based on a feasable universe) B.H. and K.A. just decide to do something that is impossible just for the sake of having an action packed story? They brought Dune to the level of Star Wars. Can't you understand that. Dune is better.
The reason Wolverine is one of the coolest comic heroes is because of his reality. Superman is fun as is many others but, Wolverine is closer to being scientificly feasable. Closer to reality than many others. This is his attraction.
