Didn't "Kip," the former insider with all the inside scoop, say he would reveal his true identity at the end of the show? Does anyone know? I certainly have my suspicions. . .

"Tonight the fat lady sings.
After ten years, two networks and 227 episodes, JAG will come to an end. It's
a bittersweet time that I share with JAG fans. It's been fun
entertaining you. An honor representing our young men and women in the armed
services.
And a pleasure working with our fine cast and crew.
Tonight's episode will be the culmination of many of your hopes and dreams,
with a little twist from me to keep you buzzing.

- So Long and Farewell -- kathym, 13:19:37 04/29/05 Fri
I used to post here many moons ago, back when I had a boring job that left me lots of time to surf the net. Ah, the good old days! :) It's probably been years since I've posted here, but back in the day - probably 2001-2002 or so - we really had a good time. By golly, I'm one of the founding members of Bud Lovers Anonymous! I also made the famous wager about parading down the street in my pj's if Mac actually married Mic (c'mon - you knew it would never happen!) I made some great friends here and even met a few in person. I've kind of moved on from the show in the past two seasons, and have caught it here and there, but am feeling a little sentimental now that it's actually over. So thanks, JAG, for entertaining me for so long, and thanks Maeve, for hosting the site for so long! And a farewell shout out to any old timers who might be passing through: Katherine, Michelleb (and I seriously owe you guys a long email - we need to catch up!), Kat, Lois, Lisar, PB, Claire (what on earth ever happened to her?), Luoodles, just to name a few. I hope you all go on to only great things.

And I am not referring a knife in the shipper's sides.
Does anyone think the twist has to do with Mattie? Maybe they got us all high on Mac and Harm's newly found companionship then Mattie's Dad turn's up all Singer.
Mattie's being released from the Hospital, and so on.
I find it hard to believe Mattie's Dad will get himself together by this time, because we are only a matter of days from when Harm found him all strung out on "Bourbon street."
If anyone has any ideas about the Twist please put me out of my misery. The Twist has me worried.

Harm, Mac get together on final 'JAG' episode
By Marilyn Beck and Stacey Jenel Smith
"JAG" ends its illustrious 10-year run Friday night with an episode in which - thank goodness! - David James Elliott's Harm character finally gets together with Catherine Bell's Mac. But things don't seem so harmonious behind the scenes.
"David evidently has been getting very upset that I don't like him or something because I've been saying the truth about the show," the series' creator, executive producer and all-around head guy Don Bellisario tells us. "All I said was I think he did a very smart thing; he knew we would not renegotiate with him for another season. His contract was up. Catherine Bell's contract continued another year. David, very brightly, went and got another deal."
He adds, "All of the contracts were up with the syndication people that we have. There were no contracts to buy our shows in syndication beyond the 10th year. Well, if you don't have syndication money ... we knew the only way to continue to make the show was to dramatically reduce the budget. If I were David, I would have done exactly what he did. Obviously, he was the highest-paid actor on the show."
There were thoughts of continuing the series with Bell surrounded by new faces in a different location. However, as things turned out, says Bellisario, the network felt it had a strong stable of new shows ready to enter the ratings race this fall and decided to bid farewell to "JAG."

Remember when they advertised for Adrift Part 2, they played that song, "I know you have a little life in you yet/I know you have a lot of strength..." Well, with the cancellation I keep getting that song stuck in my head. Crazy, huh?
I was thinking, now that we're facing the end it might be fun to go back to the beginning and remember how it all began for us. How did you start watching JAG, What was your first episode, and which was the first one that ever made you cry?
For me, I got started watching when I came into the living room and caught the end of Shadow while my parents were watching it. The first episode I ever watched in it's entirety was Boot, and the first episode that ever made me cry was Hemlock, when Meg regained consciousness.

Thoughts on Last Weeks Episode and The This Weeks... -- Mira, 09:31:36 04/25/05 Mon
I know many of you hate my posts, I'm negative.. I've said good bye many a time but cannot stay away.. Well, once a JAG Freak always a JAG Freak... I like all of you and the show has meant a lot over the years, so it is hard to give it up cold turkey..
Anyway last week was one of the first episodes this year that I actually sat down and watched completely.. All year I've either forgotten or switched back and forth to the Sci-fi channel..
First of all Lt Yuck... Having read DB's interview about attacting younger hip viewers [more on that later] just what is his attraction besides eye candy if you like that type? What an insult to the young, like they cannot see though the charm? He is no more like Harm than an dog is like a flea.. Yeah maybe they are both good looking..Yeah, they are both overly proud.. However to quote Jane Austin, discribing Darcy in "Pride and Prejudiced"... Paraphrasing now, " There is a reason for his pride and it isn't unbecoming.." So though it may be a bit much sometimes, between his good looks and his flying /lawyer skills especially the younger Harm had a right to be a little full of himself at times. With Yuck, he isn't that good, he is lazy,a bit stupid and ethically dismal.. He's no Bud... Heck he isn't even Singer.. So how in the heck did TPTB think they could present him to us as "a younger version of Harm.."
I hated the scene between Mac and Harm. It started out all right, Harm asleep at his desk, Mac concerned... But then it turned into something else. I'm sorry Mac fans and Shippers, but I didn't like her at all in that scene. I am sure that Mac fans and Shippers saw something different.. But here is what I saw, Mac starts out concerned about Harm, asks about Mattie, asks if she can help.. When Harm says no, the scene becomes all about her, her and Webb, her and Harm, their relationship.. I'm sorry but at the moment Harm had other worries.. Then when he asks her if Yuck learned anything from her.. She snaps that she didn't sleep with him.. What was that all about? I do not think Harm meant anything about sleeping with Yuck.. Afterall Mac had been working with the creep not him.. Yeah, I know about the Harm snipes of the past, but in this case the tired worried Harm in my opinion was simply asking pointers concerning a difficult junior officer that Mac had almost been working with exclusively.. He didn't need any self centered what about us crap from Mac.. I guess this is supposed to lead into the final and the relationship thing.. But contrast that with the hospital scene with Jennifer. Harm exhausted at Mattie's bedside, Jen appears tells him to get some rest that she cares about Mattie too and will sit with her.. Harm gets up with gratitude, the scene was about love for Mattie.. And if it had been Mac showing up, it still could have been about Mattie but with the added twist of implied love and support for Harm and vice versa... So I think they dropped the ball on that one.
I also think it kind of points to Mac and Harm not getting together, both still to defensive and insecure for a relationship, Harm has given up his career for Mac before and she threw it in his face... Now he is a step closer to becoming JAG someday, he should give it up now? Maybe it should be Mac's turn to give it up for Harm. However if a spin off happens, the new series has Mac on the West coast, alone... Another five year baby deal kind of thing? Engaged or married and living opposite sides of the world for several years only getting together during leaves? Do you think so? If the series went on, do you really think that TPTB would waste Mac's beauty and charm and not have some romance in her life? That romance would be with someone other than Harm..
I know you are all excited about the previews, but they did have a dream like quality to them.. There still is that toss of the coin thing... And DB's ambigious ending, my bet is it is going to fade to dark and we will never know for sure...

- Mira its the same old song & dance....Inside if you will.... -- JNTS, 10:13:57 04/25/05 Mon
- First off Mira, I don't know what show you watched but I sure didn't see what you did. I'm no Harm fan as most know, but I haven't enjoyed an episode of Jag this much in a long time. What you saw from Mac was far from what I saw. Mac was compassionate, caring, concerned funny and helped Bud find his way. I don't see where you saw Mac making Harm's pushing away about her. The fact is Harm has been pushing her away and she just said "if he couldn't open up to her then for him to please let someone else help." inside... -- Kathy ( who feels Mira that even if Mac jumped in front of a bullet to save Harms life, you'd still find fault with her), 11:18:57 04/25/05 Mon
- Kathy, I have no problem with Mac helping Bud.. I have no problem with Vic losing, you notice that Harm didn't do more than point out some of the errors[inside] -- Mira, 11:59:02 04/25/05 Mon
- It seems to me that only anti-shippers would be the ones to gag. Nonshippers tend to be more ambivalent about the whole deal. And I thought Bud was terrific. HE is what Harm (and Mac) have been trying to get Viki to be like. But Vikster's ego is so big he can't see it. That's why he's a bad lawyer, especially for the courtroom. His litigation skills, if he has any, are overpowered by his huge ego that won't let him admit he's wrong even when he is. (NT) -- NanaSue, 12:10:50 04/25/05 Mon
- Like I said Mira, I don't believe we watched the same show, but whatever. I enjoyed the episode and all the characters. And there are a couple new articles out with Chas Floyd Johnson and Catherine Bell confirming that there were a few different endings filmed before they wrapped and TPTB will decide which one to use. And what the heck dream stuff are you talking about. Nobody's dreaming..confused. Oh well Mira, I'm trying to figure out why you watch the show at all, you obviously don't like it and I can't see where you're a fan, but oh well, I'm done with this convo. (NT) -- Kathy, 13:10:31 04/25/05 Mon
- I think only the few rabid nonshippers will go ballistic because many nonshippers like me are happy for Harm and Mac. I was chatting with fellow nonshippers and it feels wonderful to see this two finally happy. We dont agree with Mira about Harm and Mac nor her views on Mac but its better not to comment anymore. The Dream Team was classic Jag and everyone shining and back to themselves except for Coates and Cresswell. Heck I even enjoyed Vic except too much disrespect on Mac and Harm is over the top. If you couldnt moan, you would have nothing to say. it may be a free baord but your making others dipressed with your winny words. for god sake it will be over come friday. why noy focus on the good and forget the bad as no amount of moaning will change the past. Can't stop Thinking about JAG -- RaichieS, 02:05:25 04/25/05 Mon
Hi Everyone-I actually didn't find this site until my dad told me a few months ago that DJE was leaving JAG. I had to find info and found y'all (I'm actually from so. Cal) and haven't left. I was so excited to find other fans like me.
I didn't get to watch Friday's episode til this morning-Sunday(getting ready for Passover) and I haven't been able to stop thinking about the show since. I even had a JAG themed dream around noon (Passover dinner goes to Midnight so a nap was needed).
We haven't seen an episode like that in a long time. I felt like it was the days of yore. The friendly bantering was so awesome.
My theory, similar to many of you, is that the coin toss is who will move to where there other one is. My fantasy is that Mac shows up in her red dress and Harm looking great in uniform for an impromptu wedding (though supposedly the episode was taped before anyone knew the show was going off the air). But wouldn't that be awesome? I think the plan before the whole "I love you scene" will be for Harm to take Mattie with him to London.
I don't think we'll know who won the coin toss. I can picture the end shot, the coin lands they look (we don't see the coin) at it and the show ends with them giving each other a grinning shot that is similar to many of the looks they've given each other over the years.
Anyway, wanted to write here for a bit, so I've been babbling. Midnight now, again after another night of Passover food. So I end with my DJE sighting.
A year ago, in Brentwood, near where I live there was a street fair one Sunday. Lo and behold, there was DJE and his family with some friends. I had to run back and forth through the fair to see him up close and wow I wasn't disappointed. He was picking up his new baby out of the stroller and it was a total high for me. The fair was held again last week, but alas no DJE as he was prepping to run a marathon in Boston.

- It's Really Over -- Meg, 16:00:23 04/23/05 Sat
As soon as I saw the words on the preview, "The Last JAG ever," I just started crying. Even though I think it's time, and had a feeling this would be JAG's last year, that made it really hit that everything was over. I kept remembering coming into the living room at age fourteen and seeing the last scene of Meg's first episode where Harm and Meg are talking on the deck of the now-surfaced sub. I guess part of me never really thought this would happen.
It reminded me of the Counterstrike series finale, when Stone says, "It was a good run while it lasted." And on Diagnosis Murder's Murder of Mark Sloan, "It doesn't make any sense what happened yesterday." I have a new line to add to my list of "Quotes that tore me up," even though it really doesn't count since it wasn't actually on the episode. "Last JAG ever" . The three worst words!

- Hallelujah! -- MacMackenzie, 12:54:34 04/23/05 Sat
OH MY GOD!!! My heart literally dropped in my shoes, and I truly screamed when I heard him tell her "I Love You Mac". Never, never, ever in a million years did I think he would ever say that to her (AND THAT KISS...my god it's a wonder the two didn't go up in flames right there on the spot..and they are oh-so-conveniently sitting on a BED!!). I swear, my dad looked at me like I'd lost my mind and my mom came rushing into the living room because she thought something was wrong LOL!!! Did you guys hear him say, "Let's get married"???? I screamed so loud after he told her he loved her that I completely missed that last line. I heard it after I immediately went back and replayed the promo LOL (and screamed again). But like DAR, I am terrified that something is going to happen to destroy it. Remember last year when the season 9 finale promo said that one of the characters was pregnant, and showed Mac in a hospital gown. You never know what DPB will do, perhaps he will give us shippers the ending we deserve.
I think one of them is going to resign from the military, and I think it's going to be Harm. I feel this way because now he has Mattie to take care of, hopefully he and Mac are together, and that's a long way to be away from the two of them. I think he and Mattie and Mac are going to live together in SD where Mac will be stationed. It makes more sense for him to resign being that his new station is in London. I don't think he woudl abandon Mattie like that, and she needs the therapy and recooperation at the hospital.
So, I am waiting with baited breath on the series finale. I am so glad I recoreded the episode on DVD (I got a DVD recorder for my b-day) because I would have worn out the tape already lol!!! I hope Harm and Mac do get together, and they move with Mattie to SD.

- MacMackenzie and P, do you both think Tom (Mattie's Dad) will "buy the farm" next week? Or will temporary custody be assigned to Harm? P, as far as the pension, Mac would pull down way more than that in private practice, so maybe it's not such an issue. 4 years apart, when they have waited so long... I understand what you are saying about pension, but between Harm, Mac and Harm's inheritance from Frank and Mom, I think they would not be so pressured to make their life decisions based upon one pension. (NT) -- Lucky., 14:15:25 04/23/05 Sat
- Points of Clarification. Harm graduated from the USNA in 1985. He eligible for 20 year retirement on or about 1 June 2005. His retired pay then is 50% of his base pay averaged over the last 3 years of active duty. Since he doesn't have 3 years as a permanent O-6, her retires as an O-5. That is a living wage in parts of the country (not DC), but is like $33,000, not $60,000. If one separates, it should be Harm since Mac doesn't have 20 years in to be eligible for retirement pay and benefits. (NT) -- Bingo, 00:30:46 04/24/05 Sun

I've actually found a Jag related book written by a real life Jag attorney. The title is Treason, the author is Don Brown and it's the first in the Navy Justice Series through Zondervan Publishing. It's about a Jag attorney prosecuting Naval Personnel with ties to terrorism. Very good book, reminded me a lot of the TV series. There's even a small NCIS tie-in.

- Last night's case -- peter, 15:50:22 04/16/05 Sat
I thought it was interesting in how they tried to resolve the case last night.
Bud coming up with the inventory of drugs requested every month.
He tried to pass the buck and fault the Captain, whose lack of attention to detail cause him to request too little of the drug.
But who's to say he ordered the drugs. He just signed off on it. It was probably a enlisted Pharmacy Tech who made the mistake.
It didn't really change anything. The Captain probably has much more experience dealing with very bad burns.
He probably knew the girl was going to die regardless of what drug they use to relax the girl so that they could tube her.
The yound doctor probably thought she was Hawkeye Pierce.
The ending only serve to give her a way out. That everyone can make a mistake.
It made for good relations saying I disobeyed orders because we're suppose to be helping the people here.
But as Harm pointed out about following orders. There are reasons why the military does things the way they do. They have been doing it for over a hundred years.
They know what works best. In this case given a valuable drug to a child who is badly burn was not going to save the girl's life.
It's only purpose was to make the doctor feel good that she did everything possible.
I do find one thing interesting. I don't know if Harm lost the case last night, but when you include it with Harm losing nest week to Bud and having his run in with Sturgis, and Mattie being severely hurt
Harm is leaving JAG on a very sour note.
Not a way to thank a guy who made you millions of dollars for ten years.

New Jag episode -- Lawrence, 02:33:38 04/16/05 Sat
I did read about Jag finally cancelled but Im confuse why we're spending too much time with characters we dont like nor care for when we rather spend time with Harm,Mac and Bud. The new guy and the blondie have no screen presence and if they're the new Harm and Mac they're a joke.
The peole running Jag inhaled something too much with this stupid decisions. And they're back with their Harm and Mac stunts again.

- Jag tonight -- peter, 22:48:42 04/15/05 Fri
Last week they had two of the best stories all year.
This week Harm and Mac were facing off in the courtroom, it should have been the main story taking up at least 75% of the show.
Instead it was regulated to the back burner. Harm still mad at the world. Mac is reaching out to him and he's being an ass.
If there was a time when one needs support from a love one, now is the time.
It's one thing to love someone elses child. But it's another to throw away the love of the person you care about most because you don't know how to accept love.
I think that's Harm's real legacy, He doesn't know how to accept love after his father went MIA.
He never really accepted Frank. He might love his mother, but wants nothing to do with her. We only saw her twice in ten years.
Hell we saw Big Bud and mental midget Mikey numerous times.
Hell even Coates couldn't reach him.
It was a good court case, but was way too short. Very surprise that Mac and Bud gave up so easily.
As for the other story, what a waste of TV time.
This is what DB had hope to give us next year?
The acting was horrible. Sure blondie came up with some good lines, but at best she's a D rated actor. She couldn't make Vukosuck look good.
If anything she made him look bad.
DB overplayed his hand here. He showcased Vukosuck to often. He gave CBS too much of an opportunity to see how really bad Jag was going to be next year.
Successful shows need people who are characters. Characters that one can identify with, get emotionally involved with.
He had that with Harm and Mac, and to a lesser extent Bud and Harriet. He also had good people like AJ, Jason, Jen, and even Gunny who added something special to the show that made us love Harm and Mac even more.
As much as I love Kate and Tony's bantering, they come across more as two people as they get to know each other become good friends, but not necessary anthing more.
They probably represent DB's ideal of what he wants in a male/female relationship.
Harm and Mac's relationship was always special. They were two people who love each other, but also love being together. They made each othe better, they made each other whole.
Their relationship was special. Something that doesn't come along everyday.
I don't think we'll see anything like it for a long time to come.
Wouldn't it be interesting if Elliot comes up with a new show base on Harm and Mac in private practice ten year down the road with two or three kids.
Maybe he can sort of rewrite history the way we all wanted it, and I'm sure he wanted it.
But I'm sure in the future if he ever acts again it will be with his wife.
Only one real good momnet came. it was at minute 59.
They show a preview in ghostly fashion of Harm and Mac moving in for a kiss.
