- JAG on DVD! JAG on DVD!!!!!!!!! -- JAGfan1 (HOPELESSLY THRILLED!), 00:26:37 07/26/06 Wed
Wow, that expression thingy is new!
So I went to Target this morning at 10:21 AM and got JAG Season 1 on DVD... wore my JAG T-shirt and everything, the people in the store must've thought I was nuts... but then they were right. I watched the pilot for the first time ever today - USA hardly ever aired it and when they did, it was like, Season 1, no Mac, I wasn't that interested. But now that it's on DVD, and we're not getting new episodes anymore, it's JAG so I don't care who's in it, I'm watching it anyways! LOL.
Did anybody else rush out first thing this morning and then waste the day watching JAG? LOL I guess not waste, but you didn't get any RL stuff done...
The thing that struck me was how old it seemed, since Season 1 started in 1995, they still refer to NCIS as NIS, and Windows 95 as a good operating system. LOL.
I'm just so happy! WE'VE WAITED YEARS FOR TODAY! WHich... technically, is yesterday since it's like 12:30 here. LOL. Anyways... JAG ON DVD! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!

- Jag/DVD -- Louise (In A Hurry), 14:14:16 07/26/06 Wed
- Nope, don't want season1 because it was awful and campy. I'm saving my money for season 2 in November. I can't wait. In answer to your question Louise of why not get them all. Well, because season 1 stunk imo and why waste money on something i'll never watch. It would be like opening the window and throwing money away. I only want season 2 -10 with Mac in them. (NT) -- Kathy, 10:56:11 07/27/06 Thu
- I agree that the show was far better starting in season 2, but I did buy the DVD's, and I have found some good parts. There are a couple of commentaries, one about how the whole show got started, and another, over the course of the whole pilot episode, about different characters and actors, and filming and editing techniques. Putting the shows together is like a big jigsaw puzzle, blending stock footage, location shots, and stage sets, all mixed in very close to each other. Oh, well--to each his own! (NT) -- Deemus, 18:52:07 07/27/06 Thu
- I was disappointed that they didn't bring Meg up at all when they were interviewing the actors. They just mentioned Bud, Harm, and Kate. (NT) -- Meg (And yeah, the name is because of the character), 21:12:05 07/28/06 Fri
- Could not help running out to season One and it has been a life saver during this Summer TV doldrums. No commercials, and I have not seen season one episodes in so long, I forgot alot of stuff. Actually I like all the "campy" stuff it works for the summer. Like trash novels on the beach. Anyway, it did occure to me 10 seasons at about $35 per season is $350 dollars - alot of dinero! Now that Pepper Dennis was cancelled, I have nothing fun to watch on TV. Jag fills the bill for me. (NT) -- Lucky., 22:37:47 07/28/06 Fri
- I think Season 1 is important, if only because we learn so much about Harm's background and the things that drive him. (NT) -- Ann, 23:22:17 07/29/06 Sat
- I watched Skeleton Crew-- so wierd to see Catherine as Diane and not as Mac!! The interviews were good!!!! Just plain and simple waiting for November LOL I got Season 1 so I will have the complete set!!! Maybe someday I will watch the other Season 1 eps LOL (NT) -- Kristen, 23:07:25 07/30/06 Sun
- I drool season 1 for Harm alone but for me its all about season 2 and beyond. Semper fi Harm and Mac. (NT) -- Andiek, 00:18:36 07/31/06 Mon
- So who were the actors interviewed? I love Harm but I need Mac for the real Jag experience. I cant wait for season 2 as well. Im relieved its coming soon. I hope everything comes soon because the world might end soon, sorry to sound so blue and down. (NT) -- M, 00:37:53 07/31/06 Mon
- A lot of good writers are pairing Harm with Meg, Singer,Jen and others. That's ok, the writers of fanfic have that right, but I just can't read them. There is one author who is smart and clever, though, she leaves out the name of Harm's woman and lets it be up to the reader to fill in. It's only Mac for me. (NT) -- DAR, 10:25:17 08/02/06 Wed
- Same here--it's Mac or no one. In addition--if they're still in the service, all those mentioned pairings are wrong, because of fraternization, etc., rules, and Harm would be at fault because he's the senior officer. (NT) -- Deemus, 13:01:42 08/02/06 Wed
- But not as many and uber good as the authors of Harm and Mac.God bless them ALL. Why didnt they release JAG season 10 first all the way down? Arghh. (NT) -- Poohmar, 23:14:38 08/02/06 Wed
- Dar beleive me I do think there are lots of really good possible stories left in the Meg and Harm teaming, and I always thought Mac has the advantage of 9 seasons for viewers to fall in love with her, but after viewing season one DVDs in sequence, Mac was needed. I do not think it is just the "ship" hook. (NT) -- Lucky, 21:17:34 08/11/06 Fri
- Do you have a link to some Meg fanfics? I've tried to search on fanfiction.net and can barely find anything. (NT) -- Meg, 17:51:49 08/16/06 Wed
- Mac and Harm were electrofrying from the very first time they met in the rose garden. They brought something exciting to the show. It's really too bad the Don threw it away at the last few years. It would still be going if he had let their romance develope. Oh well, all we can hope for now is a film with them together. (NT) -- DAR, 15:54:10 08/12/06 Sat
- I loved Season 1 and it got me hooked on JAG. I put up wiith Mac in 2-10 because I was watching for Harm and Harm alone. I much preferred Harm with Meg; Harm with Kate; Harm with Jordan. Never Harm with Mac. Sorry, clearly not a shipper here. (NT) -- Laurie, 16:25:25 08/13/06 Sun
- I also prefer Mac to Kate or Meg. IMO AP (Kate) is a lousy actress, Meg was too young, Mac is just what the show needed. (NT) -- Jagcharmed2, 19:29:40 08/15/06 Tue
- The biggest contrast I noticed was: Harm and Kate were friends, but there was sexual tension practically rammed down our throats, kind of a "Be a shipper or else!" They cooled the tension with Meg and that came across as just a really good friendship. With Mac, they developed a friendship, but it kind of took forever. (continued inside) -- Meg, 15:53:55 08/23/06 Wed
- I agree with you Jagcharmed2. Kate was just plain nasty and Harm was Vukovic in Season 1 along with the cheesy show itself. Meg was just downright boring and her voice was just awful. DPB didn't like her and apparantely nobody else liked her, or the show either because it was canned. They got smart and got more into the law and brought the best part of the show to the screen being Mac (CB), Thank heavens! (NT) -- Kathy, 16:57:51 08/23/06 Wed
- Also, Meg couldn't be too young, Tracey is 39 a year older than CB. So she wasn't too young at all. (NT) -- Kathy, 17:03:30 08/23/06 Wed
- JAG on DVD -- Louise (Happy), 23:24:52 08/19/06 Sat
- I have never seen Season 1 and plan to keep it that way for awhile-- I really do believe that the addition of Catherine is what helped to save the show as well as the rest of the ensemble cast :-) (NT) -- Kris, 23:55:09 08/25/06 Fri
- Episode Questions -- Meg, 19:13:51 07/23/06 Sun
Is there a site with transcripts of the JAG episodes? I'm especially interested in season one transcripts.
Also, which episodes (all seasons), took place on subs, carriers, battleships, or destroyers?
Thanks,
Meg

Hey everyone!! Wow I haven't really been on here since the series premire, but I was looking JAG up on wikipedia.com tonight and decided I missed you all!!!! I've been watching the reruns on USA every morning at 8 am, since it's summer, no school.
So guess what, I'm definitely SEVENTEEN now, not twelve anymore, lol. I'll be a senior in High School when classes start again, and I'm actually going part time to college.
But off the personal stuff, who's excited for the release of JAG on DVD (**FINALLY**)???? You know, I never really got into season 1 but I'm actually really excited for it to be released just because... It's JAG!!!! Wow, I still remember HTML.
So do people still come around here? I'm sad I didn't have a fanfest to go to this year, lol, I haven't been to Washington DC in almost a year! Hey does anyone remember Mindy who used to post here? Well I met her in DC last summer, I have the cutest picture of us in front of the whitehouse, it was so awesome.
OK well I was just stopping by to say hi to everyone, you guys rock socks, and I miss you all like crazy... I'll try to stop by more. I'm about to go on a trip to Mississippi (for missions) for a week but after that I'll try to come around. See you guys later. Oh and my email's on there if anyone wants it...
Katie (aka JF1... wow that brings back memories, lol!)

- Its true....ABC picked up I believe 12 pilots, & DJE's for whatever reason was out of the running pretty early on....CBS picked up 4 (with maybe another two as mid season), but CB's wasn't one of them. Its a shame IMHO, both sounded interesting....CBS IMHO was the tougher sell because they had fewer slots, & after reading some of the titles ABC picked over DJE's, well let's just say I'm shaking my head at both ABC & CBS's choices....Sigh...I hope both land something soon to get them back on the smallscreen! THey had pilots? Hmm... what were they supposed to be about? Is it possible they will do a series on the mini thing CB was on... the time rift thing or whatever it was??? - Asking for your thoughts and prayers -- SD, 02:30:38 04/18/06 Tue
Hi Everyone - I don't know if there is anyone here who remembers me - when JAG was in its heyday I was a bona fide board regular. Like so many, when JAG ended I stopped coming by the boards so much.
For anyone who does remember me, you might remember that there was also a "Mrs SD." My wife wasn't the most computer-literate person in the world, but I remember that a couple of times she came on the boards just to find out what it was all about (and also to answer those burning questions that many of my board mates had about me).
A little over a week ago, on April 8th, my beloved, darling "Mrs. SD" left me, and left this world. Although she had battled several illnesses for many years, her death was nevertheless very sudden and very unexpected. She was my entire life for 16 years - we had just celebrated our 16th anniversary on April 1st.
"Mrs SD's" real name was Kitty, and so I ask all fo you out there for your prayers and thoughts for her, and for me, as I have lost the love of my life and the only thing that ever really mattered to me. My life is very empty now, and I am just trying to figure out how to get through the remainder of my life until I can join her.
Thanks to all - take care.

- Just incase anyone is still lurking here -- Daisys Dtr, 22:53:29 02/23/06 Thu
The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films has released its nominations for the 32nd Saturn Awards, to be given out May 2, 2006 in Universal City, California. The Stargate franchise picked up a total of four nominations in this year's prestigious genre awards.
Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis were both nominated in the Best Syndicated/Cable TV Series category, just as they were last year. SG-1 has won the award three times -- in 2000, 2004, and 2005.
Other contenders include Battlestar Galactica, The Closer, The 4400, and Nip/Tuck.
Ben Browder (Cameron Mitchell) received a nomination in the Best Actor On Television category, an award he won in 2005 for Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars and in 2002 for Farscape the series. His competition includes William Fichtner (Invasion), Matthew Fox (Lost), Jilian McMahon (Nip/Tuck), Wentworth Miller (Prison Break), and Tom Welling (Smallville).
Finally, Claudia Black (Vala Mal Doran) earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actress On Television for her recurring role on SG-1 this season. She took home the Saturn for Best Actress on TV in 2005 for Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars.
Catherine Bell (The Triangle), Allison Mack (Smallville), Michelle Rodriguez (Lost), Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) and Erica Durance (Smallville) were also nominated in this category. Durance is a Stargate SG-1 alum, having played Krista in Season Eight's "Affinity."

Before they go... -- Luoodles, 18:55:39 01/12/06 Thu
The elderly parking lot attendant wasn't in a good mood. Neither was Sam Bierstock. It was around 1 a.m., and Bierstock, a Delray Beach, Fla., eye doctor, business consultant, corporate speaker and musician, was bone tired after appearing at an event. He pulled up in his car, and the parking attendant began to speak.
"I took two bullets for this country and look what I'm doing," he said bitterly. At first, Bierstock didn't know what to say to the World War II veteran. But he rolled down his window and told the man, "Really, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you." Then the old soldier began to cry. "That really got to me," Bierstock says.
Bierstock, 58, and John Melnick, 54, of Pompano Beach - a member of Bierstock's band, Dr. Sam and the Managed Care Band - have written a song inspired by that old soldier in the airport parking lot. The mournful "Before You Go" does more than salute those who fought in WWII. It encourages people to go out of their way to thank the aging warriors before they die. "If we had lost that particular war, our whole way of life would have been shot," says Bierstock, who plays harmonica. "Every ethnic minority would be dead. And the old vets are now dying at the rate of about 2,000 every day. I thought we needed to thank them."
The song is striking a chord. Within four days of Bierstock placing it on the Web, the song and accompanying photo essay have bounced around nine countries, producing tears and heartfelt thanks from veterans, their sons and daughters and grandchildren. "It made me cry," wrote one veteran's son. Another sent an e-mail saying that only after his father consumed several glasses of wine would he discuss "the unspeakable horrors" he and other soldiers had witnessed in places such as Anzio, Iwo Jima, Bataan and Omaha Beach. "I can never thank them enough," the son wrote. "Thank you for thinking about them."
Bierstock and Melnick thought about shipping it off to a professional singer, maybe a Lee Greenwood type, but because time was running out for so many veterans, they decided it was best to release it quickly, for free, on the Web. They've sent the song to Sen. John McCain and others in Washington. Already they have been invited to perform it in Houston for a Veterans Day tribute - this after just a few days on the Web. They hope every veteran in America gets a chance to hear it.

Amen and thank you.

I am sitting here watching a JAG rerun and Cmdr. Turner just told a petty officer to close the hatch meaning the door to his office. This is not the first time I have heard a door reffered to as a hatch. A hatch is a door between decks and a door is between buklheads. I know what I'm talking about having spent eight years in the U.S. Navy, five of them at sea on destroyers. I don't know why but felt I had to point this out!
