My brothers and boyfriend will be delighted to hear this news. I love Stargate and Farscape on Sci-Fi so to have Catherine on a mini-series on this network is a dream come true.My brothers always had their Peacekeeper fantasies for Mac.LMAO! The cast sounds great and especially creators Rockne O'Bannon and Bryan Singer. Farscape writers are more talented than Jag and I love X-Men so I adore Bryan Singer.Semper fi CB! So happy to read this. I'll be watching it but CB is always Mac to me so I could never go ape-dung the way I did with Mac and Harm on Jag. Likewise with DJE because to me Harm is his best character. (NT) -- ryder, 02:28:46 06/04/05 Sat

- Don't Miss Adrift on Hallmark 2Night at 8pm and 2 Questions -- Lucky, 19:21:44 05/31/05 Tue
Now that I can actually think about Harm and Mac's history - rationally, I have 2+ questions/observations.
"Full Engagement" was Harm and Mac's first/last/closest thing to a date. Looking at it from this perspective, I can see why it was so long before they would actually get together.
Also, I was watching "Boomerang II," which I have nt been able to watch since it first aired, and it struck me this is the only time either Harm and Mac have actually made any kind of direct suggestion of "getting it on," or anything of that nature. Mac asks, "Is that a request?"
By the way, in the old days of this board there was frequent speculation of when Harm would call Mac Sarah. Well, it looks like Boomerang II is the only time.
Am I missing something?

- Its just disappointing because USA and Hallmarks cuts some pivotal Jag scenes and even some Harm-Mac moments. (NT) -- Jesse, 01:40:09 06/01/05 Wed
- Full Engagement is not the only one there was Heroes,Tribunal and other eps and when TPTB got greedy and paranoid over them it was mostly behind the scenes like Harm asking Mac out after some case victory or inviting her over to join him and Mattie etc.Remember TPTB's rule of dating without calling it dating? (NT) -- Jesse, 01:43:55 06/01/05 Wed
- Actually, I think there was one other time when Harm called Mac Sarah. As he said goodbye to her at the end of "Vanished" when she was going off with Lowne, I seem to remember him calling her Sarah. But I think that it was better that he called her Mac in FWAFS since Mac was the woman that was his friend for so long before they became lovers. Sarah was Mic and Clay's lover, but never really their friend. Mac is better. (NT) -- Bingo, 00:08:42 06/03/05 Fri

Bad news for Aussie fans -- Rachelle, 04:48:16 05/29/05 Sun
Its official, we loyal Aussie Jag fans will never see another episode of Jag. Channel 7 has informed us that they have no plans to include Jag in their programming anymore as it has been cancelled in the US. It never really rated highly here in Melbourne but neither did Dark Angel, Tru Calling and others and yet they are still played in the early hours of the morning. Couldn't they at least put new eps of Jag (we are only up to season 9) on instead of repeats of others.
Jag continues to get no respect and it really pisses me off as a loyal and true blue Jag fanatic.

Happy endings -- peter, 12:34:04 05/27/05 Fri
After seeing the season finales of many shows this year, I'm glad we got a very good ending for JAG that most of us wanted.
Harm and Mac are together, probably going to London. They probably would have found her something over there so she wouldn't have to resign her commission.
Other senario would be that Mac would have reserved her commission because she would be looking into ways of having a family with Harm, through fertility clinics or adoption.
It's what's important for her at this stage of her life.
Besides when one thinks about it she had two men already who had given up their careers for her. She probaby would think it would be right that she gave up her career this time.
The Navy is Harm, it's his life. For Mac the Marines are important, but it's not who she is. It doesn't define her as the Navy defines Harm.
Besides she now has what she wants. She has Harm. The chance to have a family with someone she loves. Knowing she and Harm, they would eventually find a way for her to get her twenty in. But for now it's the chance for a family that Mac wants.

- I so disagree with this....The Marine Corps is just as important & has helped shaped Mac's life as the Navy has Harm's....just b/c she's a woman doesn't mean her career isn't as important as Harm's is, & she has also been just rewarded with a Command Position, something that is pretty uncommon for women in the military. Harm got his career back after he resigned (which BTW Mac knew nothing about), & I don't think its fair that she has to be the one to give things up to follow Harm to London. She also has been given a vote of confidence with being handed her own command...Inside.... -- JNTS, 13:30:51 05/27/05 Fri
- SD or London works for either of them. Yieeeee! So happy DB showed us his heart.LOL! (NT) -- Vida, 15:46:04 05/27/05 Fri
- I think Harm would just as easily give up the Navy to be with Mac. Especially now that Mattie is hurt. I say that they went to SD. Harm is closer to his parents, Mattie can have good care there and Mac can stay in the marines. (NT) -- Rachelle, 02:49:13 05/28/05 Sat
- I think the point is moot. Mac is already pregnant, Harm wasted no time before they went to McMurphy's so London it is. They'll need more money to take care of Mattie and the little Harm. Mac will be a judge, better hours, and nannies, handicapped care and being together will be perfect. By the way, being a mother is just as important as being a marine, maybe even more so these days. Anybody here watch American idol? Im happy Carrie won but my boyfriend was rooting for Bo. A group of us watched it live at the Kodak theatre and it was a fun experience to hear the music live. My friends are all crazy about Carrie but also they like Ryan Seacrest a lot.
We have this Mac fan group and Harm and Mac yahoo group and its for the young people. Jag thinks only Jag is for the old crowd but there are also many youngins that watch the show especially for Mac and Harm.
Our group is one year old and we're about 256 members but we're growing fast and having a marvelous time.
We're celebrating nonstop on Harm and Mac. Good luck to everyone here too. Bye for now!

- who is going to die on NCIS -- p, 17:17:50 05/23/05 Mon
They're after Gibbs, but we know he won't die, he's the star after all.
Shouldn't be Tony, he almost died two weeks ago. Besides he and Kate have something going right now. Have to someone the diehard shippers can bond to.
Abby and Ducky don't make sense, they don't operate in the field. Though one can see Ducky retiring he is afterall over 70.
McGee makes sense, afterall he is a dufus, but who would Tony and Kate have to pick on. He's a perfect Stooge.
Bye Bye McGee

At least I have TRIED to. As I type this it is still not down but I've done everything I can to shut it down. I've contacted VOY, deleted everything, and followed all the steps to shut it down. SOMEONE hacked in and posted TERRIBLE TERRIBLE pictures there (porn). I can not describe to you how upset I am. My apologies to ANYONE that went over there and found it. THANK you to the folks that e-mailed me the heads up. APPARENTLY it began w/ a post w/ "++" on it. No message. I joked about it and said something about what does this all add up to? LITTLE DID I KNOW that if I'd WAITED there were PHOTOS loading with it. I had no idea. Not only were the pictures thruout my site, but posted thruout all the treads. It was truly, truly horrible. I've shut down my board and will not re open it. Thank you to all the folks that visited and stopped in for a chat. I suppose we shall have to go elsewhere to talk about Stargate and Stargate Atlantis. Again, my heartfelt apologies to anyone that happened to click on the site after those hideous pictures were displayed. I'm just absolutely sick.

- Series Finale -- Lucky, 19:58:25 05/08/05 Sun
SPOILER ALERT on “FAIR WINDS AND FOLLOWING SEAS.”
What I love about Fair Winds and Following Seas - I really don’t want to go inside
Beside Harm and Mac togetherness. :)
The General setting Mike straight on his personal rules of engagement and Bud screaming at Mikey telling him to fall out of love. “Are you crazy the General is my CO and you’re messing around with his daughter”? Bud throws him out of his office. And then Harm saying to Mikey, “Are you out of your mind!”
Harriet “letting” Bud make the decision about staying in D.C and Harm joking about it to Mac.
Sturgis being “the Man” he is by congratulating Harm (I like it was raining). I was thinking how amazing it is to have a character come in later in the show and for me to love him as much as I do Sturgis.
The Harm and Mac flashback, “You’re gonna be o.k. Mac, I’m gonna get your through this from “Rules of Engagement.” (Of course I always wondered why they did not take Mac’s jacket off - if she had a fever.)
The flashback from A Tangled Webb Two in Paraguay when Harm barges in on Mac’s bath and later when Mac questions Harm as to why he resigned his commission, traveled 5000 miles, and asks well riddle me this flyboy, why? These two clips appear different than in the episode when it aired. Harm’s eyes are way more loving than in the episode. Maybe it’s because they are slower in the flashbacks, but when I reran “A Tangled Webb II” his looks are not the same.
As much as I did not want any time with Vukovic, his story - to me - was a bit of a tribute to the marine spirit and perhaps a tip to our show’s creator.
Harm telling Mikey (and himself) “Talk to her, open up, let her know how you feel.”
I also like, upon further viewing, when the General says “Old habits die hard.” It occurs to me he means Harm and Mac’s old habits of communication. Even at Mac’s apartment they fell into their old pattern of discussing their situation.
Questions:
What is the car Harm was loading? Will Mac be trading her vette in for a Mom car and two peanut butter covered kids (Harm says in “Soul Searching“)?
Why did Jennifer make it seem like she wanted Harm and Mac to be separated? Her comments to the Admiral really had me puzzled.
Why were there still bits of animosity between Harm and Sturgis? Why did Stugis sound like he and Bud would be equal in rank. When Harm tells Sturgis he will be second to the General and Sturgis says “along with Bud.” I don’t get it. Bud was just recently promoted.
Why in all of creation did Harm ask Mac about her apartment sublet?
And WHAT was that rag of a shirt Harm was wearing. Of course it did match Mac’s top (very pretty), but a nice blue v-neck would have set me up for eternity. Of course my real complaint is “the rag” was very distracting in that I kept thinking the whole time how I wanted to remove it. LOL! It’s a good thing I taped this episode so I could actually go back and listen to the dialogue.
How did the Roberts get a babysitter for those four monsters at the last minute? No, just kidding.
What do you think the bartender mean “Figures a guy like him would be with a girl like you.” When I first heard it I thought she had been trying to make advances on Harm, but maybe she just means the two are equally gorgeous.
Did anyone notice the leprechan face behind Harm and Mac in the bar? Luck finally did kick in for these two and their fans.
Why would Harm sound unsure as to whether he was engaged? Was it because he was too busy not talking with Mac after his “Fate could keep us together forever”?
Oh, the whole Vukovic thing with Mac, was he hoping to have a “youthful indiscretion with Mac“? Or was he bringing up her past because he really wanted to go to San Diego and was blackmailing her into taking him? And, how about Coates, why did she want to go to San Diego, was it because of Vukovic? Career-wise going to Europe would be a better boost for her, would it not and I would think she would be more dedicated to Harm.?
There is way more, but I really can’t take anymore time away from watching the episode, and stay tuned for my predictions...

Love every one of those questions. Sturgis has always had an inferiority/paranoid complex. Remember his dad & the Admiral trying to get him out of that state of mind? So, in his mind, the General likes Bud better than he likes Sturgis. As to Harm sounding so unsure if he was engaged, seemed to my wife and I like the deal was, 'meet me at the bar if you're coming with me....if you don't show, I'll know the answer is no." And if she didn't show, his cover story would be buying the whole crew one last round of drinks before shoving off for London. I'd love to know what others think. (N/T) (NT) -- Sr Chief, 12:35:32 05/11/05 Wed
Also with all the rollercoaster emotions reality sets in and its normal to be nervous. So much is happening in their lives and its happening all at once. But so wonderful to see them take that leap of faith to be together and find forever happiness. (NT) -- Jesse, 01:20:00 05/12/05 Thu

- I don't think we are supposed to know which way it landed; that's part of the twist ending. I think that the side showing at the end credits is Heads, but that's at the top of the toss, not the decision. Whichever, I think that we got the perfect ending for the series, definitely putting Harm and Mac together, but leaving the details to our imagination. In my personal ranking, the series ending to JAG is the third best I have ever seen to a TV series after Newhart and Magnum, PI. And I've been watching for 50 years. - You are so right Bill. They, tptb, really missed the boat. The chemestry between those two wonderful actors was mind blowing. To see it wasted for the last two years was agonizing. The seven and a half minutes was amazing. They actually captured nine years in it. For heavens sake Hollywood, find them a comic, tender love affair to star in, they will bring down the house. (NT) -- DAR, 08:35:54 05/07/05 Sat

- Didnt last on season 1 too. Its over the top and cheesy traditions. CBS had its moments but season 1 was too much. Cartoon version of the military and no wonder the real Jag that time was so embarrassed to be associated by it.Come to think of it Harm was a bit like Vukovic and the ladies were boring, dead meat characters, flirties like Meg and Kate and their madame Krennick aka Marilyn Monroe. Season 1 was like Pensacola Gold and the pilot 2 with Harm and Kate on that carrier was like a runway for models.Yuck! (NT) -- Heaton, 22:16:22 05/12/05 Thu
Harm was shallow on the first season, a bit like Vukovic and the women on season 1 were like Vukovic too especially Kate Pike. Giant turn off, a very lame season. (NT) -- seiyuu, 03:47:06 05/15/05 Sun
- Season 1 is supposed to be all entertaining and pure fun but it also made the military look bad.It came across as shallow and everyone was unlikable. It was also so sloppy that their military montage were mostly scenes from movies.DJE-CB-PL and JMJ were a perfectly cast on CBS.Good to see better changes. SC was a great addition too. There was more depth to Harm and Mac. They really look hot and look yummy together. (NT) -- charlie, 20:37:27 05/15/05 Sun

Is there any way to do that now, from the series finale to now? It's been great, just like old times, around here and I don't want to forget. Anyone who might know how to do that, it would be great. I was going to show my grandmother the picture of David in the Boston Marathon that someone had posted, but it was taken down. Is there any way that someone could repost it? I haven't posted in forever, but I read the board about everyday. You guys are so intersting to read!!! Also, did anyone find out who Kip really was? Thanks.

I watched the Church Of The Rock brodcast on Sunday and Pastor Mark Hughes was using a children's toy gun to illistrate why you need to be specific when targeting your prayer "shots". All my aunt and I could think of was Harm firing the gun in the court room! Jag may be gone but it's infludence over my mind is not. (lol)

- Coin Toss -- JCT, 12:12:27 05/03/05 Tue
I have posted in forever, I lurk a lot a lunch at work. Anyway, was it just me or did any one pick up on the fact that Mac called tails. Paraquay (sp?) came right to mind and her remark of both of them wanting to be on top both in career and relationship. I think it was her way of saying Harm career first is okay as long as they are together. Just a thought.

- JCT are you referrring to tail meaning the bottom? I did not think of that, but that would be interesting. Speaking of Paraguay Harm did already give up his career for her and if I were Mac I would take that into consideration if I had to give up my career. Actually I think she is o.k. with it, because she knows her relationship with Harm is more important. Her words to Harriet at lunch and the 4% Solution about sometimes wanting what she had and always wanting to carrying a baby. Maybe having a family is the only way Harm and Mac could both be on top. (NT) -- Lucky, 17:02:28 05/03/05 Tue
- I could be wrong, I'll have to check my tapes, but I know that Mac lost the coin tosses in both Silent Service and Tirbunal- Didn't she call tails in those two instances too? Maybe she really didn't want to win this one either... (NT) -- Kristie, 11:33:41 05/04/05 Wed
- My wife and I have decided either way is great. Harm seems ready to leave the service if need be, and they will have Mattie & Coates with them either way. Harm & Mattie flying the bi-plane works for us either in England or California. We did think that final look (as the coin was in the air) was quite interesting -- still a bit of competitveness in their eyes? (N/T) (NT) -- Sr Chief, 07:55:44 05/05/05 Thu
SrChief its trus that either way works for them. Did Harm and Mac even seem giddy over their promotions? NO!!!! They seem more giddy and lovesick for each other. The smiles of Harm couldnt have been more brighter. Man that was some hot smooches and its obvious they will have a sexylicious married life. My congrats to the happy lovebirds. (NT) -- seiyuu, 20:08:11 05/05/05 Thu
- Great observation that Harm and Mac were more happy being together forever than about their careers. (NT) -- Ethel, 01:51:32 05/08/05 Sun

Keep in Touch! -- Rosie, 10:25:06 05/03/05 Tue
Good Morning.
Since visiting here for the past few days I realized how much I have missed you all. Since JAG was around I thought I could always come here if I wanted to know how you guys are. But now that JAG is gone I thought we are going to lose touch for good. So I thought it would be cool to have a place to visit once in while if we wanted to know to chat and that is not attached to any show. I have setup a voy board. I like to keep it private so if anyone likes to know the address please email me and I will send you the address. This way if you do not delete that email, LOL, you always will have the address.

- Coin Toss -- Ginny, 17:33:15 05/02/05 Mon
Did anyone see the play "Miss Saigon"? Some people think it was a waste for Kim to kill herself. Some think it an "unrealistic" way to deal with her situation and that there were other options and ways to deal with everything. You can analyze all you want but it is a play and it was the saddest and most beautiful play that I have ever seen. I wanted so much for it to end happy with Chris leaving his wife for Kim and Tam. The same with the coin toss. Its a story. Sure there were other ways to deal with it all and in real life, you probably wouldn't deal with such an important decision on the toss of a coin. But it was a cute ending. The whole Mac/Harm relationship was a little far-fetched if you want to nit-pick. But we all wanted them together. I wanted to see a whole season of a wedding and married life. Now that will happen only in my imagination and day dreams.

- Bye Bye from one of the powers that be. -- David Bellisario, 00:39:30 04/30/05 Sat
Bye bye indeed. I just finished watching the show with Julie Watson (sis), Steven Michael, Michael Horowitz,Ralph Riccoboni and our online editors from Hollywood Encore.- all post productions weenies like myself. Avery Drewe was off with his family and Megan Mascena ran home to see hers. We've been on this show for ten years - at least Julie and I who were in from the beginning. And we are sentimental slobs who are all a little broken up at the end. Ten years took my kids from being kids to being college students. Made my hair go gray and put on 20 pounds. And 10 years really flew by.
We had a great crew - terrific people to work with. DP's and effects men. Stunts with Diamond and cold nights with Matt Siglochs Marines in the desert at Barstow. Memorable moments filming on the decks of the Stennis at sea during flight ops. Working with the Marines at Pendelton, chasing tanks through tents at night, Circling Frigates off Diego and watching F14s fly into the sunset at Mugu.
A lot of good actors, some poor and a few stinkers among the guest stars. Good directors and writers. no blood drawn among us. I'll apologize for the screw ups and episodes I hated and forgive the whinning I read here in my occasional perusals. I do wish you would stop poking pins in your DPB dolls. Don's life has been tied up in NCIS and First Monday for the last 3 years. His specifics for the ending tonight were the most direct he has played for a while.
Good luck to David, Catherine, Patrick, Karri, Scot, Zoe and Mr Andrews. Many thanks to all the service people and their families whom I have been privledged to work with, and who have all been unstinting in their assistance. We have never been on a ship or base where we were not welcomed. And many thanks to you. Semper Fi

Thank you for the message, David B!!! Also, thank you for a wonderful show!!! There are too many good memories!!! :):) I’ve never cared a TV show this much in my entire life - even we have been pinning our DPB's dolls, we are still VERY big fans!!! I wish you the best!! (NT) -- Acer, 01:31:41 04/30/05 Sat
- Thank you, David, for the T. V. show that came far closer to the real Navy than any other. The realistic portrayal of Navy life in an entertaining format is what I will miss most: the saluting, proper wearing of the Navy uniform, attention to protocol, proper use of Navy jargon and interpersonal address. It pulled me in and held me for ten years. Your technical advisor really earned his money. You even taught Katherine how to shoot a pistol properly. To those of you who have never been in the Navy, JAG consistently came far closer to it than any other T. V. show or movie. (NT) -- nevada_slim, 01:58:48 04/30/05 Sat

Thank you for the Jag memories.I cant say all 10 years because there were some tough seasons but Im still in total shock Jag went all out with Harm and Mac and the results were joyous and outstanding. Now we need to pass champagnes to the many converted shippers.LOL! WE welcome you all with open arms. (NT) -- Muzby, 03:47:51 04/30/05 Sat

- Dear David, Been a jaging for years--from my 20's into 30's. I appreciate the work that is required of any PTB. I have watched less Jag this season. I was a total Jag Fanatic for all other seasons -you were losing me. I still PVRed it and watched smatterings. Watched all of tonights show. Well Done! Very Creative ending for the masses. You accomplished the goal, satisfy audiences while leaving them wanting more. Oh and use your signature (the Heads of the Jag Coin) to sign off. I am proud of you. Thanks! (NT) -- CSM, 09:02:23 04/30/05 Sat
- Thank you so much for your comments, your candor and the show. While I haven't always liked the turn of events, (most of season 9 and the Mac is a doormat year...Season 6) I have enjoyed the show. I'll be the first to agree that I have never cared about any show enough to comment on it, attempt to write fanfiction, or any of the things I have done with JAG. On a side note, my husband is happy that I liked the ending because I threatened to never watch his favorite show (NCIS), depending on the outcome. I thought the end was perfect. (NT) -- Cristina ( Thanks for a wonderful ride. Please can we have JAG on DVD? ), 09:33:29 04/30/05 Sat
Thank you to all tptb for 10 wonderful years. I wasn't crazy about Seasons 9 or 10, not enough focus on Harm and way too "dark". BTW I still have 1 pin in my DPB doll, but I do thank him anyway and I'm sure in time I'll "try" to remove it. You see, I love the Harm character first and foremost, but I also love ALL of JAG, and without DPB I never could have experienced this wonderful story. Thanks for a great ending to my all-time favorite show!! (NT) -- HiG, 09:42:51 04/30/05 Sat
- Hearing from a PTB's who sound like he'll miss JAG as much as we will makes me happy. As I watched last nights show, I saw the characters we have grown to care about come full circle. Ten years is a long time for us, the viewers. I can imagine what working on a show like JAG for 10 years must be like. When something finally comes to an end it bittersweet. I guess it had to end sometime and I thought it ended with dignity and obviously made shippers everywhere happy. Me included. - Thank you David. Never have I been so wrapped up in a television show as I have been on JAG. This will go down as one of the best. How soon can we have a reunion movie? I will admit it will be a while before I can forgive DPB for the last 2 years because I don't think finding the chemistry between two people like we had in Harm and Mac comes around often. I wanted this show to last forever, but as we all know.....things change. (NT) -- Samgiz, Thanks for the fantastic ride., 11:28:26 04/30/05 Sat

- David, thank you for your message to the fans. Like many others, I have not been very happy with the last two seasons, but over-all JAG has been fantastic - the only show I have been committed to watching or reading about. I really appreciated the finale and would like to see a TV movie follow up in a year or so. Also, hope we get DVD's soon. Many thanks to all of you for a great show! - David, thanks for taking the time to post and share some of your thoughts w/us. Pardon my skepticism, but why would David Bellisario post this message only to one board? Where's the post to the main JAG Yahoo list? Or JAGniks? Harriet posts to those and more, but this is the only place that David posts to. Doesn't that strike anyone as a little odd? (NT) -- Rosie, 19:08:48 05/02/05 Mon
- Thanks to the Bellisario family for giving us JAG for 10 years. I don't know what I will do until the DVDs come out, probably wear my tape of "Fair Winds" out rewinding the last 10 minutes. Thanks for giving us Harm & Mac together at last, now just write a movie showing their wedding and birth of their child(ren) very very soon. Semper Fi. (NT) -- Anne1, 19:45:40 05/02/05 Mon
- THANK YOU! I must admit, I didn't look forward to summer vacations b/c it meant no new Jags... Thats how much I loved the show! Your hard work is appreciated. The show was great, the finale was outstanding, and only having it on DVD would make it even more awesome! Any truth to a future movie rumor going around? (NT) -- leochic, 23:42:59 05/03/05 Tue

First --- I've decided to give you all a break and NOT attempt any HTML/magenta madness! Never say[I know some of you are disappouinted, but hey --- tough noogies!]
Second ---- HELLOOOOOOO to all the "oldies" I've missed talking to for what seems like forever. [Yes, Katherine ..... I mostly mean YOU!!!!]
Third ---- I hate to admit it here, but I pretty much forgot that last Friday's was JAG's series finale .... I haven't been watching at all this season and adfter reading some spoilers and things in the press I figured that it would end the way I read from you all it did --- with Harm & Mac together and the onlky thing up-in-the-air being who was going to resign their commission.
I hope all the shipperfolk are satisfied/happy with this. I stopped really caring a GOOD LOOOOONG time ago! LOL!
So ----- here's the REALLY IMPORTANT question ----
WHAT SHOW CAN WE ALL go nuts over next??????
LOL!
Oh, and BTW --- Katherine was NOT "channeling" me ..... she is PERFECTLY capable of making her VERY OWN stupid typos!!!!!!
ps ---- That "Olympics" thing is my all-time FAVE Katherine/Luoodles production!

- Feedback for JAG -- Meg, 23:02:22 04/29/05 Fri
So I just learned the real reason JAG was cancelled was not because of ratings, not because of the lack of field cases or AJ's departure, not because of the increased shipper focus. They cancelled it because they believed the series was only catering to the older generation.
So I sent this to CBS' feedback form.
I'd have sent this sooner if I'd realized. I heard the reason you cancelled JAG was because you believed it only catered to the older generation.
Just so you know - I'm 23. I've watched the series since I was 14. I have participated in a discussion group where the majority were all under forty. These are the die-hard fans - the ones who will be buying the DVDs from you and who honestly care about the show, unlike the casual viewer who just tunes in when it's convenient.
I'm not sure where exactly you took your sampling from, but in the future you might want to use internet groups as your main survey group. Because a lot of us will be heading back to college or school on Monday, knowing our favorite show is at an end.
I don't expect them to bring it back - but at least this might keep another show from going the same way.

- the problem is that they can't rely entirely on internet groups - because we're not statistically a sample population - anyway, theres a lot of details I don't understand in all that - but - I blame them moving it to Friday nights - thats what really did it in for me - I might have kept watching out of habit otherwise, but moving it to friday nights, it had better be really really good for me to watch, and when it wasn't, I stopped watching... Well my little shipper heart is overflowing with the outcome of the final episode!!!! Although I am in tears right now. I went over to my grandma's house, and naturally I watch the last episode anytime I can. Well, noone warned me that my grandma's VCR was "somewhat eating tapes." And go figure THE TAPE WAS AT THE BEST PART- AT THE END WHERE THEY ARE KISSING AND AT THE BAR!!!!! So now I have big lines that run though the picture during that part!!! (SIGH) So i was wanting to know, is CBS going to rerun the season's episodes, or are the going staight to USA network? That way i can retape it!!! What luck for a huge shipper! :~(

- Decision Making and the Coin Toss -- Lucky, 18:32:07 05/01/05 Sun
Just below Mira commented that a coin toss is not a valid decision-making tool. On the contrary, I would like to refer anyone who feels this way to David A. Wlech's book "Decisions, Decisions." Along with Rules of Thumb the Coin Toss is a perfectly valid mode of making a decision, when one's options have all been throughly reviewed and the parties involved believe that both choices will either not effect their expected happiness or will result in equal happiness.
This is where I see Harm and Mac in this episode.
They kept trying other options but they were always satisfycing - choosing the first acceptable option that came along. At least Mac was. Take for example Brumby LOL!
They both spent at least 8 to 9 years surveying their options and trying to understand the value of them, and this is why when the decision had to be made they are able to do it in a way that seems too easy. What they learned in all those years was all the other options would not maximize their happiness. Also the risk of not being together was too big in their minds, and so not making a decision about "US" was too big of a risk - much bigger of a risk than resigning their commissions and where they would live.
I hope people can undestand this and not wite off this technique of the coin toss for taking decision-makers beyond an impasse, which is where Harm and Mac were. Mac said neither one of us can move on... It really was smart decision-making on their part.

Congrats,Shippers -- Wes, 15:47:46 05/01/05 Sun
In Jag,I was not really a shipper but Im glad they tacked on the happily-ever-after ending for the show. There was no ambiguity about this. It was good to see the final 2 eps true to Jag and the series final with a feel-good and crowd-pleasing tone. I even have seen how much Harm and Mac have changed but both light up and were all glowing on Harm's apt.and McMurphys. Harm look more handsome and even younger while was soooo beautiful. It pains me to say this but sparks fly between Harm and Mac. Both are perfectly cast and they made the romantic tension over the years so palpable. They were hot. Damn.LOL!
It good and right because they were in love and so happy and that makes me happy too. I guess I can forgive Bellisario now. Im still working on it.LOL!

- JAGNiks Olympics -- Luoodles & Katherine, 12:41:10 05/01/05 Sun
We (Luoodles and Katherine) present our latest collaboration (stop running!!!!!). Meaning, we are both responsible for this latest fias....er...masterpie....umm...project. Contrary to popular belief, we DO like each other--do you HONESTLY think we'd spend weeks writing together if we didn't??? Sheesh...Anyway, we hope you take it in the spirit it is intended--to be FUN and non-offensive. Please direct all complaints to Lu at itwasn'tmyidea.net or to Katherine at Toldyouthatwouldtickpeopleoff.com.This just keeps it lighthearted and fun. Sort of. LOL!
The JAGnik Olympiks: Part 1
Announcer Lu Costuslots: “Ladies and Gentlemen...My talented and lovely co-host (guess who wrote that people!) and I would like to thank you for your attendance at the XXVVICMMGONAVYMMIVIIXL Olympic Winter Games here in downtown Maeveville!”
Announcer Katherine McHey!: “Thanks LC. Before we get to the actual events, we shall have the "Parade of Posters!" In keeping with the winter theme, they will all be wearing hula skirts and skis!”
Lu: “Hula Skirts? Are they all from...? Hawaii?”
Katherine: "I don't know... they DO look to be WINTER Hula Skirts..."
Lu: "How on earth do you have a WINTER Hula Skirt?"
Katherine: "Oh I don't know. I mean, they DO have winter in Hawaii...and they even had some snow this past year...Let’s ask Oldspice...Besides it's MY line, and I'm leavin' it in! Sheesh! You're always deleting my stuff! And while we're on the subject, you make me sick with that POOFING garbage. Why anyone thinks that stuff is funny is BEYOND me. ~Brigitte is standing with a cheesesteak in her hand~
Brigitte: “Mmmmm.... Toasted!”

Brigitte: “MmmfffHelwo.”
Lu: “Brig..dear...do you have the interview or not?”
Brigitte: “Oh....mmmhhhuuyes...mmhsorrry mmhLu. ~swallowing~ AHEM...I stand here with Abby, Rainbow and ScoobieD...Ladies...what occurred on the hill out there?”
Abby: “I dunno. I was warming up for the curling event, when someone strapped sticks to my feet and shoved me off the mountain!”
Rainbow: “I think someone put WD-40 on our skies!”
ScoobieD: “I blame Lu.”
Lu: “Wha...???? I didn...”
Brigitte: “Lu, ssssssssss! I’m busy.”
Lu: “Sigh...”
Brigitte: “Well, I’m glad there were no serious injuries.”
Abby: “What do you call SERIOUS?! My FEET are pointing BEHIND me!”
Rainbow: “Oh buck up, Abby. Don't be such a baby! I'm gonna have a MARK...and...I think I broke a nail...and.....”
Abby: "I said my FEET are POINTING beHIND me! What is WRONG w/ you people?”
ScoobieD: “Ummm...I have a bandaid...Will that help?”
Brigitte: “There you have it Lu.”

Lu: “That was the WINDOW! Sigh....We'll never see her again...And now, without further adieu, I send you to my colleagues SD and Canrane.”
~Obviously, SD and Canrane do not realize their mikes are on...~
Canrane: “So, if you’re not hanging with the fichus anymore, who are you hanging with?”
SD: “There’s a cute little patch of ivy climbing my chimney.”
Canrane: “Uh, Just a sec, SD, it's that annoying Lu woman again....Lu, would you STOP with the waving...WHAT!?...We’re on the a...!!!??”
~papers fly in the air~
Canrane ~nervously smiles into camera~ “WELCOME!!! uh..~ cough ~ Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to the USN Pavilion where the first pair is set to perform.”

MichelleB from audience: "HEY!"
Lu: “GACK!”
~sound of needle scratching record~
~"Correct" music comes up~
Canrane rolling eyes: “Ahem....Don’t they look stunning together? Just look at the way they glide.....My...they seem to be gliding awfully...FAST!”
SD: “I agree...they'd better slow down! For their first required element, they’ll do a triple flip, double axle, and somersault over each other. At that speed...oh my...I just can't watch!”
Canrane: “Yes, and this is the first time this has even been attempted in competition!”
SD: “Uh oh...I just don’t have a good feeling about this...”
Canrane: “Oh no...Here they come!!!" ~closes eyes~
~WHAM! ~
“BRUMBY, YOU IDIOT!" ~Their voices trail off into the distance.~
Canrane: What happened?

Lu: “Well...there you have it...the first pair to skate err...ski...er...Ummmm...we’ll be right back after these messages.”
~Commercial 1~
~Shot of Katherine with her lips stuck to a flagpole.~
Lu: “Oh, my...what HAS happened to our Katherine???? She should have used Chafstick!”
Katherine ~giving Lu the death glare~: “I can not BELIEVE you contracted me for these commercials. You're going to PAY for this. Pay and pay and PAY and...”
~enter Munchkins~
“When you’re out and about
Remember...Don’t POUT
So your lips don’t stick...use CHAFstick...use CHAFstick”

Hi guys. First I think I had forgotten that I should not read anything involving Lu and Katherine when people are around and can hear me laughing foolishly by myself. But you know I remember everyone else even GOTB. Did he ever post anything other than his singing. I got the reference of Dancer and Livia, Michelle and the Admiral, Tammy and Turner and Lu and Harm. Thank you again for all your efforts guys. (NT) -- Rosie, 11:02:34 05/02/05 Mon

A One Night Stand In the Hay... Okay...But do you really think? -- Mira, 11:47:26 05/01/05 Sun
I know give it up etc..etc...ETC...
I can see Harm and Mac getting it on, would like to have seen that even..
HOWEVER THE COIN TOSS THIS IS YOUR LIFE DECISION WAS A BUNCH OF B.S.......
Sorry gang, but did you see HOW possive and "this is none of your business" like Mac was when Harm just took a peek at the list of people she was thinking of taking with her to the West Coast?
Did that remind you of ANYTHING??? Remember poor old Mic and his resignation for her and her reation when he wanted to know what was going on at JAG?
Do you NOT THINK that Harm in private practice wouldn't be like some old FIREHORSE and want to know what was going on at command? I SMELL TOUBLE.. No happy marriage there...
Say Harm won and Mac resigned and followed him to England.. HARM BIG BANANNA.. Could she even practice in England? Would she be reduced to giving teas for the other officer's wives? Representing defense for some of the military cases that her husband might want a conviction on for various reasons, and he'd be under lots of political pressure now as well.. Him moving up in a career that used to be hers. Remember Mac tried civilian law, she soon found out that her chances of being on an equal footing was with the Marines not some big time law firm. How could she be happy? I SMELL TROUBLE... No happy marriage there...
I think the two of them realized the truth during the lip lock scene, but it then switched to the HUGE COP OUT of the coin toss.. Realisticly I think the coin toss was followed by a huge fight after which neither resigned and maybe be so bad, they'd never be friends again.. Because all the stuff that had kept them apart all these years would come crashing in all over again.
Command is a huge step in the careers of both, and so is marriage.. Too important to be decided on a coin toss. "Oh I am going to chuck 15 to 20 years of hard work and risking my life on chance because your so terrific..." I don't think so and that could be said by either Harm or Mac..
So yeah, a passionate night of love, but with the light of day the reality that it won't work simply for the many reasons it had never worked up until now.. And them kissing and expressing whst might have beens, going on to what fate has in store for them.
In my humble opinion that would have been more true to the nature of both these fictional characters that have been drawn over the last ten years.
IT'S BEEN FUN GUYS AND I LOVE YOU ALL...

One more thing..... -- Mira, 11:50:50 05/01/05 Sun
- I don't agree with a lot of what you've said (despite being a non-shipper) but I still can't figure out the coin toss - I mean - they both should be WILLING And BEGGING To be the one to resign if they really love each other - and personally I think the fair thing to do would be for them to both resign - but planning the rest of your life based on a coin toss? Personally if they couldn't work it out some other way, it just makes me suspicious about whether they really want to be together or not... (NT) -- Aria (who hope she hasn't offended all her shipper friends with this post =), 11:53:33 05/01/05 Sun
- GOSH THE ENDING WAS HAPPY SO CAN WE LEAVE IT AT THAT! sorry we could accomidate you feelings! (NT) -- Erin (one very happy shipper), 13:25:44 05/01/05 Sun
- Posts were deleted for personal attacks, instead of addressing the topic at hand. It's the end folks--keep it civil. (NT) -- A Mod, 14:23:51 05/01/05 Sun
- Mac will have lots to do in London. There are clubs for expats' spouses and other volunteer positions she can do to during the day. Maybe she'll write. (NT) -- Girl from Canada, 15:27:43 05/01/05 Sun
- Love conquers all Mira. I have always been an optimist and believe they will live somewhere happily ever after. I also believe they will carry out the baby deal. Harm will be a bigshot in London and Mac will be a high ranking judge. They will have a nannie and Mac will buy comfortable shoes at Herrods. I am so happy, DB finally made my day. - I like to think of it this way -- Ariana, 16:40:41 05/01/05 Sun
- Mira, I see what you are saying about Mac snatching the list, but I took it as she was bummed about Harm still wanting to talk business on anylevel. She was hoping he would talk personal, so this is why I did not even think of thei competitiveness of old. (NT) -- Lucky, 18:08:14 05/01/05 Sun
- Could be, but still I remember poor old Mic and the stay at home civilian guy.. Not a pretty sight, and I do not believe that Harm would be much different. Nor do I think Mac would be any more gracious to Harm than she was to Mic.. Also remember Mac blowing up [trophy girlfriend or something] when Mic wanted to impress his boss with her beauty. Mac at teas? Come on...[inside] -- Mira, 19:18:01 05/01/05 Sun
The illusion is that there is a future. Romances don't carry on into the future. They end with the happy couple. And that is the point. These two did not want either one to feel either resentment or guilt. They've waited long enough and know loneliness is all that it's cracked up to be. Rather than having one person appearing to sacrifice, they let fate decide. Because the important thing was they were TOGETHER forever. Unlike Mic, who foistered himself on Mac, Harm knew that they could start off their lives as equals, with no regrets. (NT) -- Cece, who only ever needed to know that the Prince and Cinderella lived Happily ever after. The romance is the thing, when it is not real life., 19:43:35 05/01/05 Sun
- The important thing to remember here, Mira, is that this is a story. Fiction. Not real. It's also finished, which means there is no more story line where anyone is unhappy, bored, dissatisfied. Since the characters are not real, we don't have to worry if they would "really" be happy. In other words, there's no parade to rain on. (NT) -- Deemus, 19:47:45 05/01/05 Sun
- No one can rain on my parade now, Mira. I'm singing in the rain. (NT) -- DAR, 09:05:19 05/02/05 Mon
- With Bud and Harriet staying in DC there is always a chance that he may show up on NCIS once in a while in the future -- NonnaRu, 02:47:45 05/01/05 Sun

- Finale thoughts, bats, and golden spatulas... -- WebbWacker (the emotional), 23:02:03 04/30/05 Sat
Wow! I can't believe it has been so long since I first watched the pilot episode of JAG and thought that the premise of JAG cases was facinating but felt that Harm was a sexist pig, TPTB were being condecending with both the storyline and the character of Kate Pike and that I wouldn't watch it again. Talk about broken promises! Ever since the show switched to CBS and our girl Mac became one of my fictional heroes I have been hooked like a fish. I really will miss the show.
Some things I will miss:
Harm's smile, his confidence (which occasionally boardered on arrogance!)his horrible luck with military air craft, his courtroom hotdogging, his connection with his father, and naturally his bantering with Mac- esp. him calling her ninja girl!
Mac's professionalism, her struggle to overcome the difficulties of her past, her skill as a lawyer (even if she did loose a lot!), her relationship with Chloe, her spooky timesense, her kick-butt attitude, martial arts ability, her ability to speak Farsi, and naturally her bantering with Harm. Her character played a tiny part in my decision to go to law school and be a lawyer.
Webb's suave, James Bond persona, his phoneix- like ability to come back from the dead- :-), his using the richter scale to measure Mac, his ability to tango, his emotional angst, his sarcasm, his longing for Mac during and after the events in Paraguay, his linquistic abilities, his relationship with his mother, and his love/hate relationship with his job.
Bud's smile, his computer/research skills, his cheerful disposition, the way he fooled Webb in "We the People", his friendship with Harm, Mac and the Admiral, his bravery in the face of losing a limb, and his relationship with Harriet.
The Admiral's (missed him all this past season!) ability to be authoratative without being overbearing, his protection of his people, his ability to give his people a good kick in the pants when they needed it, his relationship with Francessca, his steely, Seal demeanor, and his relationship with Harm, Mac and Bud.
Harriet's sweet demeanor, her den mother tendencies, her friendship with Mac and Harm, and her relationship with Bud.
In general I will also miss the courtroom drama (it was often very good), the intrigue (esp. in the episodes Webb was in!, the secondary character like Turner and Gunny that I liked, the millitary atmosphere, and episodes where the characters traveled to places like Russia, Italy, Russia and Australia.
About the finale:
Okay I willing to offer an olive branch to TPTB. It was an emotionally satisfying conclusion. I liked the flashbacks they chose. Harm and Mac finally had a mature conversation about their feelings in which they were both ready to participate. I do wish the issue of Mac's infertillity had come up because that seemed like an infinished issue between them from earlier in the season. Otherwise romantic as my little shipper heart could wish for. Mac calling him sailor again after so long was a particularly nice touch. I just wish he had called her Ninja girl once more! I actually liked the coin toss too. It is a dramatic touch but I guess doing something like that was the only fair way for them to decide when they both love their careers. At least the loser can still practice law as a civilian. Although Mac might find that challenging in England but perhaps in the international arena. She does have experience with international issues and she speaks Farsi! It was a fitting end. The last two episodes could have used a good case but the Harm and Mac storyline did come to a good conclusion.
I also have to say how reading the posts below has brought me back. It made me smile to remember seeming the emoticons for the first time, going live on the chat on Friday nights, drooling over Webb with all the other Webb fanatics (you could say we were the original Claymates well before Clay Aiken!)checking this board while working the desk at the library at law school, shreiking with laughter over some of the posts about Renee and Mic and the GLA, going to Michy's Enterprise board, reading posts by great regulars like Aria, JF1, Michelle, Luoodles, Katherine, SD and all the other regulars, and telling everyone my bat story and laughing myself sick over the replies. It has been a great time. I intend to keep lurking and posting. I hope to see everyone else still posting here as well. Thanks for the memories.
Thanks for reading this super long post. I just needed to get that out there. JAG has been one of all time favorite shows and I will miss it. I wanted to post last night but I went to a Green Day concert (they were unbelievable!) and I couldn't watch the tape till tonight.
Just one last thing. I loved the use of Five for Fightings song 15 for a Moment at the end of the episode and I loved the title. Fair Winds and a Following Seas was a perfect title. In honor of the JAG men- Harm, Clay (especially him!), Bud, Gunny and the Admiral- that I have loved I would like to dedicate Holding Out for a Hero:
Where have all the good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where's the street-wise Hercules
To fight the rising odds?
Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and and turn and dream
of what I need
(Chorus)
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'till the
end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'till the morning light
He's gotta be sure
And it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life
Somewhere after midnight
In my wildest fantasy
Somewhere just beyond my reach
There's someone reaching back for me
Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat
It's gonna take a superman to sweep me
off my feet
(Chorus)
Up where the mountains meet the
heavens above
Out where the lighting splits the sea
I would swear there's someone somewhere
Watching me
Through the wind and the chill and the rain
And the storm and the flood
I can feel his approach
Like a fire in my blood
(Chorus)

Bravo and I love and agree with your post especially that its the CBS Jag that really lured me.LOL! It was too much Vukman, too little Harm and Mac,I miss AJ-Gunny and Tiner even Webb, many things we like to see even the Harm and Mac wedding and some hot stuff in the bedroom but overall it was well-told and a banquet for the buff in us because it could have been so much worst. With my fears of a dead Harm and the end of Harm and Mac this was a real gift from TPTB to the fans. How Jag ended was very unBellsario like.LOL! (NT) -- Ethel - off to watch my tape again., 23:10:34 04/30/05 Sat
- First, I have to say this: FROU FROU IS AWESOME! With that, it's been great to read the posts of all the regulars coming back and reuniting. I've lurked here since S7 or so, used to be CBminime when I did post or make collages for the Rose Garden. As for the finale, I don't think they could have done better considering they found out they were going to be canceled AFTER filming wrapped. It was satisfying, which in my book is the most important part of any series finale. We finally have our closure, albeit not to the degree of Friends or Frasier, but whatever. THEY'RE GETTING MARRIED! YAY! (NT) -- AmyJo, time to watch those last 7 minutes and 36 seconds just one more time... or two, or three...:-), 00:04:49 05/01/05 Sun
Ninja Girl?!?!? :D *I'm* Ninja Girl for that very reason!!! (NT) -- Ninja Girl (duh), 22:41:03 05/01/05 Sun
