I've been kind of laughing at media articles of late. They've been going on and on about how frightening it is for the daytime talk shows these days due to the steady decline in ratings. Maybe it's just time to scrap the whole thing and develop some higher budget, primetime-like shows for daytime. "If you build it, they will come" LOL!

"PC's 1.5 is coming close to SUBEs record low of 1.2 the lowest rating any soap has gotten, maybe ever, certainly lowest in the past 20 years!"

Just curious if you know if PC has been losing affiliates. It was my understanding that Sunset Beach's 1.2 happened because a lot of affiliates dropped the show before it ended once they learned of it's cancellation.

"ATWT The show is horrible! Deserves its low ratings!
I've never seen a show go from so good to so bad so fast!"

Unfortunately, I couldn't agree more. I'm really starting to wonder if the Goutman/Sheffer team was just a flash in the pan.

One other observation. I noticed that the NBC soaps are really the only ones to not lose any ground per se. Granted, Passions doesn't have much lower to go in the HH ratings but Days has pretty much stayed even or increased it's ratings in the last couple months. Also Days & Pash are apparently doing well in women 18-34 (though we constantly heard that song about Sunset Beach when they wanted to keep it alive)
