I think that a need for control is an appropriate reason to be tested. By knowing the level of risk you have for inheriting a disease, you can plan for your future and the future of your family. As we saw in the video with the woman whose father had Huntington's disease, and so she knew she was at risk, she was trying to get her finances and things in order so that her family would be prepared in case she had the disease. Testing provides control over providing a secure future for you and your family.
