I agree with Regina in that the psychological effects of a positive genetic test are the first to become apparent, rather than biological effects. I also agree that a person is not sick but "potentially sick," but I do not feel as though employers or insurance companies should view people this way. It is important to recognize that being a carrier for a genetic disease does not mean that one will definitly develop it in the future. I agree with Regina in that it is important for that person who may be a carrier to begin treatment options or therapy (if any) and be prepared to fight the disease, should it come.
