Betty,

I wish you best of luck in your search. Just be patient and take your time, ask for references and check out every piece of paperwork or info you are given. As for registry paperwork, the legitimate registries will be happy to confirm what a breeder gives you as registry information. As for hip tests results, always contact the organization that performed the test on a pup's parents. I do understand the University of Pennsylvania requires the breeder's permission to give out or confirm the Penn Hip results...if the breeder refuses to give that permission, you can assume that they have played around with the info and numbers on the test result copy they have given you. Always ask for their vet's reference info and contact the vet to see what he/she has to say.

I apologize if it seems to some that I am nothing but a troublemaker. The sad truth is that JB and company are just about the only breeders who have time to surf the internet and boards constantly trying to pick up leads from newbies and drum up business. The really concerned and honest breeders spend most of their time taking care of their dogs...and they've gotten so disgusted with seeing JB and company take over every board out there that even mentions boerboel. I don't what he says to the people who get on these boards to support him always...I don't know what he has done for them...I don't really care. I do know that if any "thinking" person reads the amount of controversy surrounding this man and his breeding practices, they would certainly hesitate before getting one of his dogs. There really are several very reputable breeders of boerboels in the US...usually the loudest isn't always the best. If you want to include me in the "loudest" group, that's your call.

Do a search for boerboel and contact some of the SABT breeders whose sites come up in your search...read their web sites and email them. You just might be surprised after mucking around on these boards.

Best of luck in your search,

Terry Magee
