Subject: Your first exposure to FM radio, period

Since only one person cared about FM in their cars, what about your first exposure to the FM radio band in the first place? I recall when my parents got our family's first stereo in the early 60s. It was a huge piece of furniture with a turntable/changer and an AM/FM stereo radio. Since it was in the living room, and the parents controlled things, it was usually tuned to one of the many "beautiful music" stations, which is why I remember people like Lyall Lorenz on WKJF. But on rare occasions, I'd have access to the family stereo and got to listen to KQV-FM when Ed Sherlock was on and they played a hard-to-describe mix of obscure but very well done pop music. Even more rare were chances to listen to Brother Love (Ken Reeth) on WAMO-FM. After hearing that great music, I could never again be content with TOP-40.
