Right, I remember KDKA had a talk show at 8 pm — not Party Line, but something else. I believe Clark Race was on from 3 or 4 until 8, with a news block in there around 6 p.m. ahead of KQV's.

The only other KDKA Clark Race airchecks I'm aware of are a couple made by my late friend Gary Waight (who worked at KD for a while) in 1969. I have copies, but don't think they were ever in circulation the way my Beatles segment was. By that time his delivery and the music had changed. I always considered KDKA a Top 40 station, albeit a heavily dayparted one, until 1968 when it went MOR. The transition is interesting to trace on the weekly surveys; as the rockier stuff moved down and off the playlist, the adds were more adult in nature, so the change was gradual.

There's a California Aircheck compilation with a short segment of Clark Race at KMPC Los Angeles in 1973, and another with Rege Cordic at KRLA Los Angeles in 1981, for anyone who is interested. Available at CaliforniaAircheck.com.
