Subject: gsxr1000 red light and error

When I start the bike(gsxr1000) the red light and error code f1 comes on but if I switch off the motor and fire it up again its fine. This was intermittent over the winter but now happening every time but the bike runs great. I think it's a dodgy sensor on the injection but I'm only guessing. Any-one else had this problem? Tell me how to fix it!
