Subject: Three weeks ago my computer was making a awful sound at times. When I took it in the problem turned out to be a bad driver on my sound card. Drivers are a software fix, not hardware involved. In addition, while they had it they cleaned it where the fan and heatsink are. I got it back within a couple of hours. Back up your files and take it in, it could be something simple.
