I don't think you have to be afraid. Are you on wireless? Often when I boot up, I don't get instant connection on my laptop, and have to click on a box. Then connection is made. When I'm on my wireless desktop, and I get disconnected, I first check the old computer (not wireless) to see if the my server is down. If I can go online on the old computer, but not the wireless, I just disconnect AND unplug the wireless router, and then reconnect and plug back in.
