Renee-

You know I used to watch a lot of t.v. I bought into all of that must see stuff. Well, now I don't watch anything. You are right there is very little that is wholesome on anymore. That goes for kids or adults!! My family and I sometimes watch American Idol or something like that. We have a channel 40 in Indiana that shows all the old shows like: Bonanza, The Lone Ranger, Lassie,I love Lucy, The Cosby Show, The Andy Griffith Show, Happy Days, etc. They love this station and so do I. We don't even have cable- we have not had it in years. There is simply nothing worth having it for. We have the Little House DVD's, and the Walton DVD's. We also have Anne of Green Gables and Ann of Avonlea. These are wonderful movies. Our kids will choose these over watching regular t.v. They really love the Waltons and Little House.
There are plenty of the old shows on DVD now. I saw Green Acres, Lassie, Lost in Space, I love Lucy, Beverly Hillbillies. All of these are old-fashioned, wholesome, family fun. You know we even have a family night- we get or make pizza and rent a family movie or watch one of our DVDs. The kids look forward too it every week. We also have the Story Keeper animated series. These are wonderful shorter videos that teach the kids Bible Stories. Another series we have is the Mac Lucado Hermie series and the Ponchinello series. Both of these are a series of shorter movies that teach Biblical principles and positive character building. If you want some wholesome fun there are the old Martin/Lewis movies, the Little Rascals, Ma and Pa Kettle, Shirley Temple, etc. There are simply some wonderful alternatives to always watching Disney! I hope this gives you some ideas.

God Bless,

Don Sanders
