thanks for the comments. i do feel very blessed to have my parents and they are both active, sharp, and live in the house in the country that i have discussed many times here. my sweet mother in law died this week but we are happy she didnt have to linger in a nursing home - she would have hated it! all the funeral activities are over and now we have the house to clean out and sell and the reading of the will etc.
we had a wonderful 96th bday for my dad with 75 people there. someone gave him a gift cert for 96$ so he can eat at bob evans all he wants now! my dad got new clothes for his party and even spoke to the gathering in his dry humor speech. he is so fantastic and i got to meet relatives i have never even heard of!
