Subject: The Waltons Series

Im so glad to see all the fans here of the Waltons show. Has anyone or any group of people tried to write / petition the networks to try to have the series run again?

I loved it as a child/teen and I am loving it again as an adult. It feels as though I am watching the episodes again for the first time. Mostly due to not remembering, but in part due to relating to the show differently as an adult. I recall being a fan of Jim Bob! He was a cutie and a charmer! I was much like Eric growing up, wanting attention and being very girly girlish! Now, as an adult, I am more of a fan of John Sr. and Olivia and wish I had children like John Jr., Ben and Jason. Of course John Jr. and Jason for their incredible politness and talents, but Ben is more realistic... A jack of all trades who gets into minor trouble.

I wish we could go back in time to a depression era (which we may be heading into!). It would teach my children the value of a dollar and that honest hard work will not actually kill you! Knowing we can not go back in time, possibly we could have a little control over TV programs. The program options we have to view these days is disgusting. Even if I can come across a somewhat family type of show, the commercials during the episode for other programs are all about sex. I remember watching the Waltons, Little House, Happy Days etc...On Saturday nights my family would sit together and watch the Wonderful World of Disney.

My family rarely gets together to watch a show. My older boys watch MTV, my daughter watches Nickelodeon and my husband and I watch the local news / sports games and the Amazing Race when it is on.

I cant believe a network out there has not considered rerunning the Waltons from the begining one night a week. During the writers strike would have been a perfect opportinity to start. I would love to see a great family show back on the air and Im sure millions of other parents feel the same.
