I am sure that the quilts look new probably were, they could of easily in the 70'made them look more like the depression era quilts. But I know my mil keeps everything from socks, hankies, shirts, pants, tableclothes, anything and that has been kept over for many years and her parents and grandparents clothing when they died were kept as well, later to be cut up for quilts.
