Subject: John & Olivia - Childhood Sweethearts or Not?

The most glaring inconsistancy to me, and is carried through almost the entire run of the show, is whether John and Olivia knew each other growing up. In several episodes they talk about growing up together, going to school together and being childhood sweethearts (In "The Prophecy" in S.4, John is celebrating his 25th high school reunion and his classmates talk about how shy Olivia was how they never suspected that he would wind up with the shy girl with the Italian last name)and in other episodes John talks about how he wishes he knew what Olivia was like in school.
