What a wonderful summary. I find that most of Earl Hamner's monologues speak to me as I reflect various situations and experiences of my life. This is what makes the Walton's and excellent show -- it speaks to the human condition (even now). I think of all the scenes the one which has touched me most is Grandpa leading the singing of "Just As I Am." It speaks to me, a redeemed sinner.
