I was amused that the introduction described him as "Swashbuckling" - not the first adjective that comes to my mind thinking of John but I guess it fits - sort of. I liked it as well, going to reread it as John's stories are always complex. I wish Diana hadn't had spacial constraints with this story - it read like an abridgement and there's more I want to know. I was very disappointed with Malcolm Stubbs though I understand, sort of. He's been away for nearly two years and had married Olivia mere months before deployment. They really had no courtship and barely time to know one another before he left. Also amused at John geting into difficulties over women. -- LJG Discussion board
