 After all you NDT's cleared out, Team South Park wound up driving about 1/2 way back to the Soo, just north of Pancake Bay Provincial Park. There were several pull-offs on the right side of the road (the L. Superior side). The particular pull-off we took was suitable for Bimmer 4-wheeling, and had at least a half dozen well spaced out, "unofficial" campsites. Not a soul to be seen, wood everywhere, and thimbleberries :-) were in season to boot. The coastline there was very rocky and the campsites were set well above the waterline with spectacular views of the lake.

This would make an excellent rendezvous location for future NW Ontario adventures. Drive time to Lansing was 5.5 hours. I'll post the GPS coordinates later.
