Subject: how can the contestant who doesn't even know the meaning of her question, win? her question was what is the meaning of integrity...and she says being determined...this upsets me very much with the usa system..it just goes to show that brains are of no importance in this pageant only blonde hair and height.

Correct me if I'm wronng, but wasn't last year's Miss USA, Chelsea Cooley, a brunette? And wasn't Miss USA, Tara Conner the SHORTEST girl in the Miss Universe Pageant? The Miss Universe system is a beauty pageant, make no mistake. The interviews and questions are not to determine a woman's IQ, but rather to determine her general personality. I would also add that we should all be proud of Hannah Thomas who represented herself, and all of us, beautifully. Maybe the judges in Palm Springs didn't "get it", but she won her title in a very competative year in Hawaii. She knows there are many great things in store for her! Great job, Hannah! No tables. No outside food/beverage. Beverage services available during the pageant. Author: Reporter [Edit]	Date Posted: 12:07:04 12/14/06 Thu TMZ has learned that officials from the Miss USA pageant will make a "major announcement" today and may strip reigning Miss USA Tara Conner of her title due to inappropriate behavior. Sources tell TMZ that executives from the Miss USA organization and NBC (which broadcasts the pageant) met Tuesday to discuss Conner and alleged incidents of her inappropriate behavior, including her conduct at New York City bars. While no one from the pageant would comment on the rumored troubles, several sources tell TMZ that a big announcement is expected some time Thursday. According to these sources, officials are extremely unhappy with the current Miss USA's conduct in public. Pageant rules say that if Connor is removed, first runner-up Miss California Tamiko Nash will assume the duties of Miss USA and complete the remainder of the beauty queen's reign. When TMZ contacted a rep for Nash, we were told they could "neither confirm nor deny" that she would be taking over the title. Twenty-year-old Conner, who hails from Russell Springs, Kentucky, was crowned Miss USA in April of 2006. Can you believe this?� said Hannah after hearing her name called as the winner. �But I was just happy because I knew they were all proud of me.� Hannah, 17, is a junior at Kamehameha Schools. She is the daughter of Jan and Robert Thomas. Her hobbies include surfing, bodysurfing, singing, playing guitar, kayaking and playing water polo. Her favorite actor is Mike Meyers and her favorite musician is Jack Johnson. Interesting facts about Hannah: -She enters and places in bodysurfing contests. -She enjoys writing and singing her own music. -She has worn heels only four other times before this pageant. -She is the director of communications in Student Leadership for her junior class. -She�s been studying the Hawaiian language for five years. -She had the rare opportunity to stay on the island of Kahoolawe with other members of her class. Sixteen contestants competed for the Miss Hawaii Teen USA 2006 title. The pageant consists of a judges interview, swimsuit phase and evening gown phase. Semi-finalists are given an on-stage question. This year's Miss Hawaii Teen USA winner will receive an academic scholarship, cash awards and various prizes from pageant sponsors. The pageant winner will also move on to compete at Miss Teen USA which is televised on NBC. I could have done without most of 24VII's dance performances and Olena's opening number...but overall it was quite good! Malika Dudley: I am so happy that Malika won! I think she was the clear winner! She has a great swimsuit body, a great presence and pleasant personality. Even though I think her dress wasn't all that nice...she carried it well! Too bad Miss America isn't a "beauty pageant" cause if it was...she would win quite easily! I'd like to see her as a USA contestant! I wish her the best of luck at Miss America! Angela Everhart: As I mentioned before, she's a classmate of mine so I was a bit biased towards her! I think she should have won the swimsuit competition! And I was quite impressed with her talent! She did quite well for a Haole girl! She's a military child so I wasn't expecting her to dance Tahitian! Her question about School or Beach had a bit of irony to it! One of the memories I have of her was a bunch of friends and I ditched school one day and went to the beach...we met her and her boyfriend there! I am so happy for her! Nicole Cabral: Pageant Patty! She reminded me of one of the ladies you see on the Hawaiin Airlines flight videos. She's a pretty lady, but something about her turned me off! Kamakoa Page: I remember her from the ZA New York commercials a few years back! I remember thinking she should be a Miss Hawaii Teen USA! She's pretty, but needs to do something about her hair! Lilinoi Grace: I feel awful for saying this...but I don't think she's that attractive! She seems very sweet and very accomplished...but I don't see her as a beauty queen! But I'm happy for her! Other stuff: I think Caitlin Metcalf deserved to place! She had a great body and seemed very outgoing! Cindy Jackson was an interesting girl...and so was Maryann Peterson! However, as always, there are NO preliminaries to Miss Hawaii USA and no local titles are used. Some interested parties have been confussed and the state pageant wants to make things clear. I am hoping no one minds me posting this!! I wanted to introduce everyone to my new line of pageant jewelry and let everyone know about the specials I am having along with 2 contests!!

The second edition of our week in review takes us to South Beach for a Nicole Miller Fashion Show. Then we stop at The Mercedes Tennis Championships for a special Queen for A Day Fundraiser.

Then the final stop on the tour is our Going Away to Miss USA Soiree for Jenna Edwards, Our Miss Florida USA 2007. The pageant family came out in full force to support our titleholder heading to nationals!

This past Friday night on world famous South Beach in Miami was the annual kickoff to The Art Deco Weekend. A parade right on Ocean Drive featuring our Miss Florida USA 2007 Jenna Edwards! It was a balmy and breezy tropical evening as our friends at Pollo Tropical sponsored the Sea Festival themed event!

The first contestant orientation for the Miss Hawaii USA & Miss Hawaii Teen USA 2007 contestants (and potential contestants) will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, 10 a.m. at the 2Couture office, 1128 Nuuanu Ave, Suite 204.
It is not a requirement of competition to attend the orientation. It is an opportunity to meet the organizing committee, hear about pageant requirements, paperwork,appearances, and meet other contestants. There will also be the first of several free optional training sessions following the orientation.

The pageant will be held Saturday afternoon, November 11th at the Sheraton Waikiki. Hawaii residents between the ages of 15 to 26 of all ethnicities and backgrounds are encouraged to apply. A six month residency in Hawaii will qualify, including college attendance. Low production fee covers opening number dress, proffessional photo shots, as well as optional training sessions for those who wish to participate. Contestants will also make several public appearances before the pageant itself. It used to be 19, but the Miss Universe Organization lowered it to 18, as a 19 year old Miss Teen USA winner could turn 20 during her reign, which wouldn't make a lot of sense. So, you can 18 and compete in either the Miss or the Teen pageant.
