Tyrsis paused at the edge of the courtyard, watching as Johan shook his head and vanished from sight. She let him go, not drawing attention to herself as she normally would have.

"Goddess, let this be the right thing to do." She closed her eyes and started across the yard and towars where Emi had gone. Three steps passed before golden eyes could open to the world again.
