  Just got off the phone with Cindi at TXR and she says the race tonight is a GO! I know a lot of people are wondering about the weather but we are taking the leap that Mother Nature is going to work with us and give us some great racing conditions tonight. Let's go out there and put on a great show like we always do. See everybody tonight. First Qualifying pass is at 7pm.

            • Kent is not the first one to run 4.70 straight motor...and not going to be the last either. Moser has it figured out now with a 500 in engine. Thomas has run a 60 something without nitrous in the good air with a 565. Scott Randall ran OTS with some success a few years ago straight motor and I think his was about 600 inches. I don't know where exactly this is headed, but Kent's engine in Eddie's car would be lucky to run a 5.00. Eveybody's combo is different to make it work.               • Reply to motor only is hard to dial in. Its easy to add or subtract a few pounds to run a 4.705. No rocket science there.   I talked to Hutch at Temple today and he feels the economy will not support a paid-in-show at this time. He complimented us on our close and competitive side-by-side racing and stated that he would like to schedule some dates for next season.
  
  Our next race on the schedule is Sept. 24, 2010 at Texas Raceway (Kennedale). We have been putting on a great show this season. Let's keep it up and give the fans something to talk about!

  Everything has 21 passes on it total from new. Most passes were getting climitaized to the motor and only a few were full blasts through the 1/8th. The motor was in a 3240 lb back half car with a 3.89 gear and 33x18.5 ET street tire. It only went 1.60 60 ft (spinning and feathering the throttle) but went 5.40@137 in the 1/8th.

  NHRA Pro Ladder. All non-members must run a 5.20 or quicker to qualify.
  
  If you run quicker than a 4.70 you will go behind the slowest car trying to qualify.
  
  Two qualifying passes, one in each lane. If there are at least 15 cars, the track may choose to run a 16 car field.

  In an effort to get you guys back home at a decent hour, our FIRST QUALIFYING PASS WILL BE AT 6pm (NOT 7pm as usual). The Gates open at 2pm. You can make shake-down or test passes from 4 to 6. The track is going to TRY and save us some parking. They are running their regular bracket program with us and the bracket guys kick it off at 4pm.   This was one great event! The Outlaw Doorslammer Spring Nationals was the place to be this past weekend! With 14 teams showing up to battle for the 8 available spots, we ended up with one of the tightest qualified fields ever.

  Mat Thomas was unable to make it down for the two rounds of qualifying on Friday. But right off the trailer in the 3rd round, he and Stan were able to put their car right to the top of the class. Clint Satterfield stepped up to the #2 spot in the same round, bumping Barry Williams to the #3 spot. Not long after the qualifying session was over, John Miller who drives the Barry Williams small block Corvette, was looking around the pits for some big nitrous pills!

  Mat went into the beams first and when the tree came down they left virtually dead even! Mat did his best to drive the stripe, but it wasn't enough as he broke out by 11 thousandths of a second. Eddie was on a fantastic lap in the first round. His big mph was the fastest lap of the weekend! What a great race!

  Clint was hanging on to his ever so slight starting line advantage at mid track when David’s car lurched hard during a gear change causing him to coast to the finish line. Clint cruised through the beams on a nice lap for the win.

  Randy had the starting line advantage and was running hard when John (in that small block vet) went by at the stripe. Unfortunately the Corvette was too fast and Randy moves on to the next round.

  After nearly 2 hours of waiting for the larger classes to whittle down their fields we were back in action! By the time we were back in the lanes the air had come to us and everybody knew the engines were going to be happy! So this round was definitely one for the Tuners.

  Eddie left first and had to pedal it at the mph cone to keep from breaking out. It was close on the big end, but David didn't have enough and it was Eddie Roach that moves on to the Final round for the second consecutive race.

  In the Final Round of Eliminations we had Eddie Roach coming from the #8 spot, same as he did last week, and we had Clint Satterfield coming from the top of the ladder... just like he did last week! What a killer rematch this was going to be!

  Eddie had lane choice and he put Clint in the left lane thinking the starting line was better on the right side. And in a stunning repeat of last weeks final round, Eddie lost traction at the hit giving Clint Satterfield and his Dad the win!

  This truck works, turns heads every where it goes. It will handle any size motor you want to put in it. The pictures do not do this truck justice ! ! I am getting out of racing is the only reason I am selling and the only reason it is this inexpensive. I have over $5,000 in updates to the truck since Christmas.
  
  There is no motor with the truck. I might sell the Reid cased transmission with new 1.80 straight cuts, TCI Gerator pump, 10 cluth billit high drum, large band, TCI valve body, Fab pan, Vasco input shaft, etc for $3000 only with the truck.
  
  I am asking 32,500 for the truck and 35,500 with the transmission.
  
  Also have a 48 ft Vintage trailer, 2005 model, wasn't used until this year. I have added a new:

  • To answer the question... I wrote a recap of the race as best I could given the fact that I did not have all of the run data from the race. I sent it to Stan yesterday for him to manage from there. I'll take round by round notes from now on so that you guys can have a better recap of the races as we move forward. I'm sure Stan will see that the results are posted as soon as he can. Also, if you have any questions about how the race was ran, that would be my department... feel free to offer any suggestions as to how I can help you guys in the pits, the lanes or at the line.   • Sorry if Stan didn't get that posted for you guys. Those deals (while in the works for a long time) finalized at the very end of the week. Also, we had our hands completely full trying to get our new rockers (which showed up Friday afternoon) on our engine...and trying to find a truck so we could get our rig to the track.   Important announcements for OTS going forward:
  
  The index will be changed from 4.50 to 4.70 as of today.
  
  The Paris race that was scheduled for this Saturday the 10th, will be resheduled for sometime in July or August. The next OTS race will be at Dallas Raceway in Crandall on Saturday, April 24th.
  
  I have handed the Presidency of OTS over to Gaylen Smith. He has offered to handle things in the interum. I will work with Gaylen to make this transition as smooth as possibly.
  
  I personally appreciate all the racers, track operators, and sponsors that I've come to know in the last several months, and look forward to getting my heap to the track very soon.
