I was so damn excited when the 2005 Miss universe started to get aired last May 31st. But my excitement turned to remorse when most of the top calibre Asian beauties failed to make the cut. Most will share their sentiments with me, I bet. My biggest disappoinment was when Japan, Thailand and Philippines didn't placed in the Top 15. Well, that can be attributed to the fact that most of the judges were Americans, and so were the winners! This, I believe, diminishes the credibility of the Miss Universe pageant as a frontrunner among beauty pageantry in the whole world. Poor Asians!!!

I agree with your disappointment. It was so heartbreaking! I'm rooting for Thailand, Philippines, Korea and even Singapore. Actually, I feel this will be the same scenario next year, remembering that Miss U is still connected, business wise, with a Latina telenovela network. So it's safe to say that do not get too much high hopes for the coming years with Miss U, and instead channel our powers and strengths with Miss World and Miss International. I don't see Binibini giving up the Miss U franchise just yet. (NT)oxana nadethronova02:38:19 06/05/05 Sun
