Don't these two statements seem to be a bit at odds? Don't you become a monk before being a swami? Or said another way, how could you be initiated into an order of swamis but wouldn't be accepted as a monk? Doesn't jive.

"Robert always had a few Yogananda stories to tell, including one about his initiation into Yogananda’s order of swamis."
"To make a long story short, Yogananda would not allow Robert to become a monk at SRF."
