 Best holiday wishes to everyone here! Not much new here, going home to Boston for the holidays, where, once again, my mother will do her best to make everyone relax (latest fiasco -- she's threatened to boycott my sister's Christmas Day dinner unless my sister also host a Christmas Eve dinner for about 30 of our extended family, after my mother is the one who invited them over), my sister will make me and my daughter feel loved and wanted (she has asked me to cancel a small birthday party for Catherine (whose birthday is the 20th) because it's too much bother ("let's just do it on Christmas. She can see her other grandparents some other time")), and my father will shower us with gifts that he got himself (he's hitting his second adolescence and has started shoplifting -- no lie). Ah, the joys of the season.
