I see it differently. Those older films set the standards by which films are still judged. Citizen Kane was made long before my birth, so it's not really a good old days situation, but it's an enduring work of art, and you'll find no corny acting in it.

I have to agree about the comedies. There should be more of them, although there are some fine ones here. "Bringing Up Baby" set the standard for the screwball comedy genre, and it still cracks me up.

You're right. Empire was better.
