The fact that Durgan was his blood brother, his clutchmate, his best friend and possibly the only person besides Bree that could calm him was the only reason he did not misbehave himself and leap on that offer. He knew for a fact that a cunning dragon such as his brother would have quite a horde or gems, and that half of his stash of loose gems would more than cover the worth of the necklace.. but he could not take such a price from his own brethair. He sighed, shaking his head as he ran a hand back through his hair.) Nay, brethair.. I wouldnae take such a price from ye for the necklace. I only ask that in return for the use of the charm that ye would care for my mate during the remainder of her pregnancy.. that ye would be there to watch o'er the clutch.. and that ye might act as protector to them should anathing happen to me. (He was basically asking his brother to be godfather and protector to his mate and children.. and in return he would hand over the necklace. He knew taht Durgan possessed strong healing powers and that he was capable of tending to the unhatched brood.. that was the sort of power that was extremely priceless to a dragon like Dane. He scratched his arm absently, awaiting his brother's response to his counteroffer. If this deal was struck he would go retreive the gem.. he just didnt know how he was going to be able to let go of it physically despite his agreement. There was an odd power about that necklace.)
