(It was close to five hours later that he found himself finally able to free himself of Tiernan's body, to put himself back on his own feet and feel the air move through his own hair. As the first sick-feeling moments of reanimation passed, he reached out with his mind to find his mate.. craving her nearness. Of course she was still in the clearing, he had tracked her there earlier and knew that she was napping there. Without so much as a word to Tiernan or Kerri, he slipped out of the room and found himself standing in the open drive out front of the castle, where he shifted his form and took flight. As the exhileration of flying passed, he found himself focused entirely on the need to hunt, to refuel his body and provide for his mate and whelps. He landed in a clearing to feast upon his first catch, filling himself once again with that comfortable feeling of being full. Once he had caught a second lithe deer for his mate, he banked and turned and headed for the clearing where he knew she slept. Flapping his wings a couple of times to slow his descent, he landed quietly and crossed towards her, his wings tucking into his sides. The deer hung limply from his maw as he stopped in front of her, letting out a low keening sound that was muffled just slightly. The sound was very much like the sound of a young dog, whining for attention, for that was precisely what he was doing at that moment. He wanted her attention, wanted to bring her awareness to himself so that he could show her what a good provider he was.)
