He'd been kept that way, starving and lonely, until he'd lost the ability to think as a human.) The lass needs support, she needs to be nurtured and taught.. and if ye take yer lassie and leave this place I think it would do her so much harm that she might never accept what she is. It'd make her ashamed of herself.. and I canna bear the thought of such an amazing creature being ashamed of what she is. How will she raise her whelps if she doesna fully understand and appreciate Drakon life, Durgan? (For a moment, the depth of his internal fear shot across his face. He wasn't the male he had thought he was, and now Durgan was going to undermine the strength within his mate. It was as though his dreams and hopes for the future were wilting before him. And above all of that.. he didn't think he could stand to see Bree lowered down to a mere shadow of herself.) I understand the fact that yer lookin out for Evie, lad, and I dinna ken if I would do anything different in yer place.. but for Bree's sake.. I beg ye to remain here and aide me.
