He was nodding a little as Remy spoke about his son, thinking about it all for a moment before he let out a soft breath. "You know, I think he does understand, Rem, and I think he knows that his mom is ok now...he just got scared, you know? He just learned at a really young age that he could lose someone he loves." He pursed his lips lightly. "Shitty lesson to learn but he would have learned it some day...." He swallowed a little as Remy turned the conversation to Gia and his own gaze shifted to the girl with a soft growl to his voice. "Yeah, she does look better...but I don't know if she's really changed from that woman who took off all seeking vengance." He sighed, running his hand over his face. "Or maybe I do know that she's changed and I am just telling myself that because I am the worlds biggest pussy." His jaw set a little, looking towards his friend. "I had never brought a girl to my house before her. I've slept with damn near every woman at headquarters and that is probably...a quarter, if that, of the total women I've screwed over the years Rem and I have never taken one of them to my house. Never let any of them meet Bambi." He paused, thoughtful. "I took her there the first night I met and then she just...she left. I never tried to make things work with another girl and with her I actually tried...and she threw it back in my face....it damn near killed me. I couldn't do it again...I can't do it again. Not with her." She sighed softly, looking down at Chase who had once more cuddled up to her chest, his lids heavily covering his green eyes but he was refusing to fall asleep. If Remy wasn't in the room with Shay, Chase had developed the habit of making himself stay awake as if to guard her himself. "Me too...I am worried about him though..." She smiled tenderly, looking down at her son. "He's so much like his father, taking the weight of the world on his shoulders...he understands what happened to me, you know? It's hard..to know my child has been exposed to that and understands it when he can't really even put it into words yet."
