(He took on that thoughtful look, tipping his head a bit and taking everything in. He knew that Chase had learned things way too early in his life, but he had serious doubts as to if that was a bad thing.) You know, I feel like with Chase.. that if he hadn't learned the lesson of mortality the way that he did, he would have picked it up on his own not too much later. He.. he's just so much different than any other child I have been around. (He, Jeremy McLean, looked nervous for a moment.) I am a little worried he has my illness. (He murmured, but shook it off as he idly scratched his ankle with the other foot. It was like a switch made his face turn from concerned about his son to concerned about his friend.) You know.. when I saw Shay in DC just a couple years ago.. after leaving her abruptly to join the military.. i thought she would never trust me again. Lord did we argue.. but you know, I think there was something between us that was stronger than the distrust, Skeeter. I am not going to tell you what to do, nor what I think you should do.. I will just say that I think you should take a good deep look at what you want, how you feel.. and judge from that. (He looked over at Gia again.) It's a lot more than just her appearance that has changed, Skeeter.. I can tell. (She frowned a little as she too looked down on Chase and realized that whta Shay was saying was indeed true. The little guy looked like he was fighting sleep, and the way his hands were fisted in her shirt showed that he was protecting her. He wondered if Chase would just happily nod off once Remy was back again. The kid understood what was going on.. that there were bad things in the world that could harm his parents, and that was a sad sort of thing for a child to understand.) I always thought there was something in Remy's eyes that was.. just so overly intelligent and he's so caring.. (She trailed off, looking over at Skeeter and Remy.) ..he's trying to get information from Justin, isn't he.. (She said, and a smirk crossed her features that turned into a laugh as she saw the serious look on their faces. She shook her head, looking over at Shay.)
