Is he still going to be doing his regular show (I'm assuming it's still on?)--the one where he plays lengthy clips from TV and reads op-ed pieces aloud and occasionally, very occasionally, says something of his own? Too bad that Rose will be co-hosting; there's no chemistry at all between those two, just a lot of painfully unconcealed friction (what has she got against the guy anyway?). She's arrogant, dull, insulting and condescending toward Quinn (who at least is self-deprecating and comes across as a good egg), effusive in a bogus way, underprepared, and glib. She's a name-dropping braggart who coos at her callers and interviewees ("I LIKE you!") and is probably the most insincere voice in talk radio. Her least endearing trait is that she often appropriates others' insights ("That's exactly what I've been saying all along"), though I can't recall her ever uttering an original thought. When she reads aloud, her cadences are often awkward, and her mispronunciations can be saddening. Quinn is so much better off without her, and their being paired together again is probably just charity on his part. When they were last on together, I used to change the station on the days when she belatedly showed up; she always brought the show down. So it turns out that she didn't leave The Answer because she was shilling for candidates, that they let her go because of poor performance? I wish them all well, of course, because I love talk radio, and it might not be too late for her to improve, but I think everybody, sooner or later, has to recognize one's own limitations and be realistic about what one can do--or at least work harder, redouble one's efforts, read more, learn more.
