This is disappointing on many fronts.

In my opinion, Bell lost all journalistic integrity when she made that Facebook post while at WTAE. Since then, she has proven that her most important priority is herself. All of that makes her the perfect match for Marty. They are two of a kind.

As for Ms. Hayes-Freeland, I have a lot of respect for her as a reporter (and producer). There's no question that she knows Pittsburgh well and has talent. But, what this shows me is that KDKA's days of finding and developing younger talent are long gone.

Think of some of the most popular and most successful on-air hosts in KDKA's history: Cigna, Honsberger, Bogut, Pintek all came from other markets when they were relatively young and KDKA cultivated them.

On a positive note, it's nice to see the station providing local news into the evening again.
