Here’s the deal, folks! KDKA finally has it right! Marty Griffin is their top talent and a great host. Want to disagree? Who else in Pittsburgh would be better on KDKA’s format? NOBODY! I’m not sure that Wendy Bell joining him will be that great, but hey, at least they are trying something new. Top talent in the afternoon drive is a great idea. It sounds like they will be more news than talk, but that’s fine. You have two former TV news people anchoring this show. It will be good.

I think that Griffins social media presence with Sparkt and Facebook helping people can be great for the station and the community. You call it egos on parade, but whatever, it’s called personality.

Lynne Hayes Freeland does fill a void, a female African American on the airwaves daily. I listened to her fill in for Marty and I think she’s good.

The morning news lasting until 10AM is also great as it extends that a bit more into the day.

Rob Pratte And Mangino on the evenings and weekends is AWESOME! Why? No more boring shows from John McIntire (loves that criminal Veon) and Ed Crow. Those guys were HORRIBLE! Stoney Richards also is a bore. Glad to see them off the regular roster of fill ins.

I always preferred Manginos talk show to the news and Pratte is just a legend, like it or not. You have to respect a guy who works weekend mornings for his entire career and actually tries to do good work.

KDKA is what it is, but for those who listen, these changes and more news will be great. I just hope they also keep their podcasts updated so those of us who can’t listen all day can catch up with the new shows.
