I always roll all my dds hair and hairpieces instead of paying someone, I tan her myself and do her nails. She only gets new pics/clothes when necessary, and we dont stay overnight unless we have to. (NT)Anonymous21:51:21 04/10/07 Tue

Cooler in room with lunchables, breakfast bars, sodas, juice so we eat out only once or twice. We only do a couple of pageants a year, with a 4 hr. or less drive. Dd likes flower girl dresses so we buy off Ebay and add to it ourself, photos not by a 'pageant' photographer (but score high anyway), clothes are OTR. BUT we only do Natural and can get away with doing less expensive clothes.~tiggerrrt (NT)Anonymous10:20:25 04/11/07 Wed

Photos not done by a "pageant" scam artist and we win with them (glitz and natural); we don't buy a new dress every pageant; I refuse to stay in an overpriced hotel; we do pageants we can drive to; I do my dd's h/m and it beats the scam folks. We don't get everything done every month (pics, clothes, etc). I coach as does her dance teacher. (NT)Anonymous11:07:56 04/11/07 Wed

I've also forgot to add our new one, do any fundraisers offered. Dd wanted to do 2 pageants in a row $$ tight, Hawaiian Tropics offered Home Interior fundraiser where she got 1/2 of what she sold - she was set on doing this pageant (wants to do mother/daughter part and they have one) I told her sell enough to cover all entry fee and I'll do it (not sell enough and we'd cover part she couldn't raise) she raised OVER $600...got to keep $325 for her pageant expenses!! (AND I'm doing mother/daughter - if you know me you know how THRILLED -not- I am)~tiggerrrt (NT)Anonymous16:38:21 04/11/07 Wed

My girls need new pics, and this time I want to go with natural - where do you ladies have natural pics done? Do you pay a pageant photographer, or find someone local? (NT)Anonymous08:52:54 04/12/07 Thu

We usually go local, had a great guy doing photos he moved (BOO HOO!) and now we do local. The headshot we are using now is actually done by Picture People in the mall, we were having family pics done and they took this great one of her so...~tiggerrrt (NT)Anonymous09:54:52 04/12/07 Thu

I always take a cooler with food, we only eat out 1 meal a day. I always buy & sell outfits with other pageant moms, making over outfits to give them new life. We only have pics done once a year. Everything must be budgeted for a national pageant. Thank heaven for swimming pools at pageants, its our main form of entertainment, and meeting up with good friends. It is always helpful if there is a zoo, or a mall nearby to visit. I also like pageants that have a "party" for the kids, it is a great way to have a goo time on very little expense (NT)Anonymous19:57:13 04/12/07 Thu

I think we should BOYCOTT MANDATORY REGISTRATION FEES is it not enough that we pay upwards of $1000 for a national pageant (NT)Anonymous23:05:33 04/12/07 Thu
