Subject: My son has several agents, and frankly you need to back off for a while. unless you live in LA or NYC, you are wasting your time. most NYC or LA agencies will require you to live within 30-45 minutes travel time since small children do not travel well, and photo shoots often last all day, and cranky children are not well liked in the modeling world. how a child does on the day of a photo shoot often determines who they use for the commercial or pictures.

In reply to: 's message, "Moms of kids with an agent" on 23:05:25 04/14/07 Sat

my son is 20 and this requires travel for me and him. we signed with an agent in Nashville, who took him to Orlando (he was 16 and we went with him) and he was signed by agents from NY, London, Atlanta, and Milan, with an option for Tokoyo when he reaches 21. we have been very fortunate to have an agent who is honest and treats him well. many times agencies will tell you anything to get your money , and then they act like you don't exist. any agent who demand money up front, or gives you promises they can't come thru on, BEWARE! a good agent will showcase your child to his or her best benefit. ( my son also did commercial work from age 3-5, so we were not total strangers to how it works.) it is a very different world out there. wait until your child is at least 2, and be prepared to do nothing else. if you have other children, it is very hard on them because if your child is in high demand, you will not see your other children or have time for them.

click to read all of the message above. stay away from casting calls, they are nothing but cattle calls. Run from agents like John Robert Powers, they are NOT reputable. they have a very bad rep. (NT)Anonymous23:28:08 04/26/07 Thu
