I wind you up
And then I wait for the melancholy
I give you up

After two days, she was finally back at home, and actually happy to be. Kaden had had her virtually on house arrest for the last little while, and she did not have much opportunity or cash to get out to replenish her stash once it had run dry and she had felt herself slowly draining completely of all optimism and enthusiasm. So, the moment that Kaden left the house to do whatever it was that he did, she had snuck out to find somewhere to make some money, and then to spend it. She had crashed sometime that morning at some guy's apartment and had not woken up till that evening. Then, because the place was empty, she had showered before heading home finally. Slipping through the front door, she kicked off her sandals and then padded quietly to the stairs and towards her room - eyes bright, but almost troubled as she was hit with a feeling that was usually foreign to her: guilt. Living the life that she did, she never let herself feel too badly about the things that she did for a few simple reasons. What other choice did she have? She lived with this dependency that, while it didn't completely consume her life, it was all that had kept her going these past few years. She worked this job because a drive-thru hostess at the local fast food joint - if she could even get that position - would never be able to support her habit. It was an impossible situation, and she hated that she was letting herself care what Kaden thought of her. Flipping on the lights in her room, she dropped her overnight bag just inside and pushed her door softly shut. Stripping off her clothing - a pair of jeans and a black top that she had brought along with her, she just left the articles on the floor among half of her wardrobe that was just lying around. Pulling on a soft yellow camisole that set off the milky tone to her flawless skin - marred only by subtle dark rings around her wide eyes - and boycut underwear in the same color, she crawled beneath the top sheet of her bed and curled up on her side, despite being virtually wide awake after her full day of sleep. She just didn't feel much like doing anything else...
