In reply to: earn your own money 's message, "I received a request from a miss contestant. She met me once two years ago when I judged her. Her request was not for a CMA donation but a request for money (code: clothing and pageant coach). She stated she helped thousands and needs to continue. Really; volunteer work costs $2000? Asking me for money in her manner is egotistical and classless. If I ever judge this contestant again, she will be grilled in the interview room. My first question will be to give me the names and brief information of ten specific people that she helped." on 03/10/14 Mon

Some girls are too young for a job but have the qualities that would make a great titleholder or they are trying to earn scholarship money and are not athletic enough to do that in school. The internet is FREE, no paper, no stamps and the ability to reach a broader audience. I receive so much junk mail I just toss it if I am not interested. I don't yell at them or get upset because they sent me an unsolicited item. So what if you don't like it, maybe another judge loved her and would be honored to help. In this day and time it is different. Many don't have the support of extended family, let's face it, many do not revere pageants as they once did. SO, let's just ignore what we don't want, even block them, and support the fact that they are trying and still believe that a pageant is a way to success (for some).
