I felt well enough to go for a walk down to the market district. Hand in hand he greeted the locals and signed some autographs for the fans. A local woman, came by and gave Kenny a hug, and congratulated us. " Well we have been married for awhile now." he said. She smiled and placed her hand on my stomach, and said she wasn't congratulating us on that. She walked away smiling, and we stood there frozen, we both got silly looks on our faces and laughed it off. We stopped at a market to pick up a few things, little did I know he had purchased an EOT foe me. BAck at the house he handed it to me. " Seriously, Kenny I really think we're jumping the gun." I said. " Just take it for me, please." he replied. So I did. He kept asking " well" the whole time. I had suspected that I could possibly be pregnant, and I was. I went into the bedroom and fished out a little box, I had ready for this moment. I walked out to him and handed it to him. INside he found a baby bib that said "I love my daddy." With tears in his eyes, he picked me up and spun me around. " Sorry" he said, as he quickly put me down. He knelt on one knee and softly kissed my tummy.
He wanted to go back to NAshville, and get me to a doctor. I assured him all would be fine and I would see one in a few days. He worried about the tour, and me being alone for days at a time, what if I needed him, he seemed so scared. " your mom is a phone call away, so is Kristin and a million other people, Kenny, we can do this." I said. On our way home we laid on the couch and he kept a protective hand over my belly the whole time.. I got into the Doctor the next day, after he did all his tests it revelead that yes we were pregnant and I was due October 23.
Everybody was so happy for us, Kristin got busy planning a shower with a country theme, were just waiting on the sonogram. The next few months were rough, I missed him terribly and the sickness was really getting to me. Kenny adjusted his schedule to be at every appointment, he loved the slight little bulge I had acquired. He was always kissing it or talking to it and even singing to it. He was there for every heartbeat, and to feel it kick and to find out that we were having a boy. We were so happy.
The baby shower was unbeleiveable. She had invited half of Nashville and we laughed at how we needed a bigger house just for the toys. Peyton Manning had sent a ton of COlts items, the VOLS had sent over things and Dale Jr. did too. This kid was set for sports. Keith had gone a little crazy as well, a guitar and countless other items were from h im and Kristin. We had his room ready and a bassinet set up in our room and a baby items adorned every room of this house. October 15 was an ordinary day. I was folding laundry when my water broke. Kenny was in his office on the phone, I opened the door and the look on my face said it all. He ended the call and we were off to the hospital. On the way there I called people to let them know. They made it there before we did. Kenny was a wreck, he paced and bit his nails and paced more. He left the room when it was time for my epidural. His dad reassured him, so did Tim. Keith showed up, Kristin came down to check on things every so often as well. An hour later, it was time.
He held my hand and guided me through the whole long process. At last we heard the cries of our son, when they placed him on me, Kenny moved a wisp of my hair to the side and kissed me on the forehead as we both cried.
Aiden Jon Chesney was born October 16, at 2:40 am, with a head full of black hair and the most beautiful face in the world. He was 7 10 and 20 inches long. Kenny went with him to hold his tiny hand while he was weighed and cleaned up. When they placed him in my arm he looked up at us with his sweet little eyyes and tried to focus on us. Kenny bent down and kissed his head. " hey buddy we sure have waited a long time for you, do you know how loved you are?" he said. " See your mama, isn't she the most beautiful woman in the world?" he asked. He went out to share the news and the most emotional one of all was Keith. He couldn't wait to hold him. The nurse took Aiden and handed him to Kenny, he scared to death, " what if I hurt him, he is so little." he said. SHe assured him that he wouldn't break. My heart melted when I saw this man with our son, he had come a long way that was for certain. To be continued.........

Back in my room there were so many balloons and flowers and well wishes. Kenny loaded some things into our truck and went to take some stuff home, he would be right back he promised. They finally brought Aiden in, while we were bonding, Keith popped his head in. " Hey, do you mind?" he asked. " Come in, of course I don't mind,." I replied. He sat down next to me, to get a better look at the newest edition to the Chesney clan. " Can I hold h im?' He asked. I carefully handed him over and he beamed. He rocked him and shared a secret with me. He wants to settle down and do this. But he feared that his lady love was not into that. I told him to talk to her and be patient. He thanked me and kissed the baby and handed him back, he had some things he needed to do. Finally I had some alone time with my little boy.I held him and kissed and told him how loved he was. I was so happy. Kenny returned, and Aiden and I were fast asleep. He gently took him from my arms and placed him in his bed.He woke me up with a little kiss. "Hey" I said groggily. " HOw ya feeling?" he asked. "Good actually." I snuggled in closer to him. "He's perfect you know that?" "Thank you for all you have brought to my life, Kim." he said. At that moment little A began to whimper, "Alright buddy, daddy's here." Kenny changed him and sang him back to sleep. Two days later they let us loose with our newborn son. We took turns getting up with him, for the most part he was an angel but when he was hungry he could wail. Several weeks passed and we had a small welcome baby party. Keith and Kristin seemed very in tune with one another, she even held the baby. Poor Keith he loved her so much, I wondered if she knew how much.Our days were filled with the joy of our baby, and many moments of daddy and baby both asleep on the couch, Aiden loved to lay on Kenny's chest and sleep with his little thumb in his mouth. We adjusted to parenting quite easliy. I quit my job to be a full time mom, and wife. I loved it, I was there for every moment in his life. I had found my heart and my heart was so full of life and love. The men in my life took first priority and Kenny always made us his.

Now that would be a sight, me holding a baby. I've only held one when I was in nursing school. And I'm pretty sure I didn't do it right.

Hopefully I was sitting down when all this baby love was going on. Wouldn't want to drop Kenny Chesney's kid.
