(He was glad that she didn't take his words the wrong way, he hadn't meant them to sound so authoritative.. hell, he was just really in a bad mood about this. Later, he would berate himself for having not told her that something didn't feel right.. but at the moment he kept his mouth shut. As she stood up, he let his good hand linger on her hip, his brows furrowing in a worried sort of manner, sort of like a kid who wasn't sure he wanted to let his best friend go. At her words, he sort of deflated on a sigh, his hand lifting to cover hers on his cheek, his head turning a little so he could kiss her palm. He wanted to pull her against him and tell her she had to stay.. this felt so wrong.. and he was scared, wholeheartedly scared for the first time in his life. At that moment though, she had brought her lips to meet his and all he could think about was how much he loved her and how wrong it would be for him to add to her anguish.. she had to do this to prove it to herself and he had to support that. After a few long moments, he broke the kiss and pressed one more to her lips before smiling a little at her.) I love you too, Haylie.. more than you'll ever know. (He murmured back to her, not caring what Skeeter heard or saw between them.. this woman was his life and he was never going to be ashamed of loving her.) Take care of yourself out there. (He said, searching her eyes with his own, as though memorizing her. He wasn't about to trust Courtney with her, and he didn't know Braden or even Gia all that well.. this was just wrong.)
