John,
I was wondering what school was charging so much? Brookside is still 1.25 for lunch, and I have 3 getting it so it does add up. But, so does lunch meat, drinks and snacks, so it is actually equal to what I would spend sending in a lunch for the three that get it.

I would guess it is the cost of food going up. They certainly aren't paying the kitchen workers big bucks, so that can't be the problem. I never think teachers are paid enough, since they are now parents as well as teachers in the world today, so it can't be that either.

The cancelled the school breakfast at Brookside this year, which is a dismay to those of us parents that have several going to school early in the morning. That use to be only 75 cents, which was well worth it, when you consider making pancakes and sausages for 5 kids!

Now, let's complain BIG TIME over the bus company they have this year! I think they put an add in the paper, "Most rude and obnoxious drivers need apply!" Ours likes to be called LADY DI, and does nothing but yell at the kids, from the moment they get on the bus. If they are too slow, she yells to move it! She even yelled at a parent to start getting to the bus stop earlier, because she wasn't waiting. I told her one day that a parent was on her way down the street, and she said, "too bad!" We have had them not show up at all at schools end, and for a while, we were waiting over an hour for our kids to get dropped off! These bus drivers on some of the routes are the bus drivers from hell.

Another rant for the day!
