Subject: Cool dance videos

So, in a last-minute-packing-avoidance maneuver, I happened to see a few videos of amazing Irish dancing on Youtube that are worth sharing...

"Junior Parade of Champions" from the Worlds this week
This video shows a quick step from each of the first place winners from this year's World Irish Dancing Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, in the U11, U12 and U13 age groups. Note the incredible control of the upper body, the amazing lift and ENERGY that each dancer displays, and the apparent ease with which they dance in perfect time to the music. And WOW what incredible cross and turn out, and they are so high on their toes!!!

By the way, Teelin Dancer Saoirse D danced in the U11 age group at Worlds this year!! Although she did not place this year, she did a BEAUTIFUL job and Maureen is very proud of her... way to go, Saoirse!!!

Mid-Atlantic Oireachtas U20 Champ Set Dance
This video is of a performance demonstration by the winner of the 2009 Mid-Atlantic Region Oireachtas U20 division. The set music is, um, painfully slow, but the footwork in the dance is phenomenal. Note the extreme cross and turn out of the toe stands... wow! Also, this demo is on a linoleum floor... imagine how amazing this dance looks on a proper dance stage!
(PS - Champ dancers, this is the school that Anne R is from!)
