Author: sorry
Subject: Ok so here goes I need to have a moan. Why do some parents always want to follow the so called trend? What suits one dancer doesn't always suit another and another thing, I just seen a high profile dancers dress for sale and one person has asked what age group she's in OH PURLEEASE. I'm sorry mod I needed to vent.

[> Maybe the person that asked did not know the high profile dancer. Most dancers are not going to know the high profile dancers unless they compete against them at the Worlds. -- patience is a virtue., Thu, Oct 04 2007, 7:25:03 [1]

[> Well Purleease to you too, just because you know how old she is dosn't mean that everyone does. The site you are talking of is an international one with dancers from all over the world and yes, a lot of people don't know who is in at the moment. Even if you do. Personaly I think the dress you mentioned is very tasteful and pretty and if the child has the same measurements as the afore mentioned dancer then it's odds on that it will suit her too -- don't be so nasty, Thu, Oct 04 2007, 15:48:38 [1]

[> [> Thank you. Well said. Not everyone knows this dancer in the states unless you dance in that age group. And I do believe the OP was being nasty to post something here. Remember people all over the world read this message board and the person you were talking about could be reading this... -- i know...because it was me., Thu, Oct 04 2007, 21:47:48 [1]

[> [> [> [> Do us a favour then... before you speak your mind, engage your brain and check, check, check. I can't understand how you could possibly think that everyone on DDN was British??? Ermm DUH!! There must be pics on there of kids YOU don't know, or are you that au fait with every dancer in the World you do? Well obviously not because you didn't realise that the person who didn't know who the dress belonged to wasn't British!!! Go complain somewhere else who want to listen and leave the board for something that makes sense and is worth reading!! -- mum, Fri, Oct 05 2007, 15:21:40 [1]

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> What is nasty about the words 'shut' and 'up'??? I really think some people take things too far at times! If I'd swore or come out with some profanity fair enough, but the OP is prolonging the posts by having to have the last word all the time... just leave it be and it'll die a death.... but no, then others come on and have a go at someone else and so it goes, on and on and on.... that's why the other board closed, because there were always those who couldn't let it lie and picked up on slight variations in language. This is predominantly a UK board and so perhaps what you read isn't how it's meant to sound! -- language is a barrier at times!, Fri, Oct 05 2007, 19:47:57 [1]

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Oh Good Lord.... beligerent kids in a classroom are told to shut up by their teachers. It's all the 'beligerent' poster was being told when she insisted on arguing back and having the last word. I really think some of you posters take things too far at times...pity you can't all be so 'gung ho' about the state of ID rather than picking on one poster for using a couple of non profane words. -- poster!, Sat, Oct 06 2007, 21:12:38 [1]

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Its a bit like arguing with your teenage daughter, which is what the OP sounds like, so let her have the last say. Really, its easier & surely replying posters (if you are adults) have better things to do with your time than argue about .... nothing! Its a dress! She obviously misunderstood why the person was asking about the age. Why it bothered her so much.... I don't know but it doesn't take much at that age to set them off! Think Lauren/Catherine Tate and there you go! Well harsh! -- storm, Sat, Oct 06 2007, 23:07:47 [1]

[> [> what a nasty post. i was thinking when i first read the op comment that i have no idea who she is talking about and then it just got plain nasty and nothing to do with irish dancing. these are the posts that should be removed as they haven nothing to do with id in the end -- snippy women!, Sun, Oct 07 2007, 7:17:15 [1]

[> The problem with the words "Shut" and "Up" is that they are RUDE. So don't use them, it's not a language barrier - it's about having manners. -- Costs nothing to put your point across politely., Sat, Oct 06 2007, 0:13:29 [1]

[> If any teacher told my child to shut up, there'd be hell to pay. I don't let my four year old away with it and there's a good reason for that - it is agressive language. Seems to me it's not the OP who is obsessed with having the last word, but those who keep posting that comment. Anyway - isn't this a "discussion" board???? -- Tut Tut!!!, Sat, Oct 06 2007, 23:56:37 [1]
