Subject: Is there a rule about pupils taking classes? Just wondering as our teacher went away and our class was covered by a boy from another location of the school? This has happend many times in our school and wandered if it was aloud?! Our school has been in the spotlight lately re pupil being trown out, and change of teachers etc etc and with things like this happening I am begining to feel that our teachers are bending the rules.....

[> not sure if it's allowed or not, but it could have problems regarding insurance if the person taking the class isn't a qualified teacher, But if the person taking the class is running it ok and the children are getting their time fairly, I would think it may be better then having to miss the class completely. -- Bridie, Wed, Sep 12 2007, 23:05:05 [1]

[> [> Comission rules are that a qualified teacher must be in attendance at all classes, ie not a pupil or trainee teacher, unless in case of emergency, when it may be possible to allow a senior pupil or trainee teacher to takea class. Emergencies would be, sudden death or illness or family crisis. Permission should be sought from the local regional council when possible. -- UK TCRG, Thu, Sep 13 2007, 9:52:17 [1]

[> Sounds like you want to make it pretty clear which school you're talking about. I would say, if you're worried that rule breaking is affecting your child then act by going to your regional council or speaking to your teacher. I don't really understand what difference it makes to you and how posting on this board can help you? Unless of course you're a troll trying to raise an age old discussion which is inappropriate for this board -- just my opinion, Fri, Sep 14 2007, 0:30:20 [1]

[> This is strictly against the rules. Contact your regional council, as unless they know about it they can't bring pressure to bear on rulebreakers to make sure they stick to the rules. In the long term you'll gain from having a TC at every class. Some TCRG use the rulebook to their own advantage -- use it for yours, Fri, Sep 14 2007, 8:57:17 [1]

[> [> [> it is not ok. The TCRG in NA are also governed by An coimisiun rules, which strictly forbid it, except in special cases where permission is granted for 12 months only. Read the rule book to confirm this -- also US Voy, Sun, Sep 16 2007, 14:20:12 [1]

[> [> and just how do you say to your TC " are you breaking An Coimisiun rules, and if so I think you had better stop or I will report you" ?? without being thrown out, and therefore banned under the rules? People ask on here because they don't feel able to question the all-powerful TC who don't have to justify why you should be banned -- using the rules, Sat, Sep 15 2007, 12:10:04 [1]

[> [> [> [> whilst that may be true in a very small number of posts I would hope that most people ask on here because they hope someone can offer advice from personal experience, or as many TCRG use these forum too, that one of them will be able to be specific about the options available -- within the rules, Sun, Sep 16 2007, 10:44:56 [1]
