You are wrong Al.
GM, Ford and Dodge have all had large recalls in their past. Not a single time have they stopped PRODUCING even a single model because of a problem. Toyota is halting all prodution of Camry, Tundra and about a dozen other models. They showed a guy on tv this mornign who went to a Toyota dealer to buy a car on the lot and they wouldn't sell it to them. This makes the big three look like idiots and I am NOT afan of Toyota, and you know that.

short term, this isa God send for Dodge, Ford and GM. Long term, Toyota gets even bigger. They are the #1 car manufacturer in the world right now... that will drop short term but when they go back to producing those models again, their sales will go up even more. and the tag line will be

"we won't sell you a car that isn't safe."

I will say this... Toyota isn't halting production because they want too. They are halting production because marketing genius said, "I have an idea..."

You watch Al. That will happen. Ford GM and Dodge sales will go up for a while... or will they? Maybe people will wait to buy a car because when Toyota starts making them again, they will be safe.
