I had predicted that Brooke would win before the pageant even started and she did well. All in all I thought the compeititon was pretty weak and the dresses for horrbile! Quick question, did anyone else notice that Brooke's forehead didn't seems to move at when she won, the only part that moved was the tiny triangle of skin in the bottem center of her forehead, curious if she had botox. Subject: Update from Laredo and last night....as I returned to the hotel late there in the lobby was our new Miss Texas USA...in her fuzzy house slipper, shorts, tshirt and sash and crown!!! Not exactly what I expected. Her attire goes well with her proclamation that now she could go lay on the beach, eat queso and get fat...I am serious...her words.

First of all congratulations to all the girls that competed yesterday evening. I am sooo proud that Brooke won last night. I have Brooke in my top five at Miss USA and I am not budging. She was my favorite to win miss austin this year. she is beautiful but is just getting her pageant legs. I don't want to see her turned into some pageant patty because she is fresh and real. What you see is what you get...nothing fake about that girl. I think she really needs to work on interview however and then she will be a force to be reckoned with. Subject: There was hardly any competition for for Brooke!! Honeslty coming into this EVERYONE already knew who was goin to win there was no big WOW factor when they annnounced 1st runner up so the winner is....In my opinion had she been competing against Alexis Currie or Young I dont think she would have taken the crown this year SORRY!! Dont get me wrong the girl is pretty and photographs gorgeously but in person I dont see the wow factor or spark that I see in photos. Now on to a different subject did anyone see the other Tarkenton sisters face during top 15 announcements!! She was not happy what so ever!!

Gosh I'd have to politely disagree. After the top-five interview I turned to my sisters and said "i've never seen such a strong top five in interview." Moreover, they were all gorgeous! I can usually find fault with at least a few of the top five selections, but this year there definitely were more girls that deserved the top five than there were spots available. I know a weak lineup when I see it, and this was anything but weak. But then again, pageants are entirely subjective, so everyone is entitled to their opinion! (NT) -- HDgal - Congrats to Brooke! Subject: Isn't it time to quit when you start going backwards in the rankings rather than forward? Lindsey Harvey, Candace Campfield, Valerie Pro, Lauren Sapaugh, Sheena M., are a few examples that come to mind. Although I would hate to see Lauren stop (cause I think she's great), when do you start realizing that your glory days are gone?

One more thing, Crystle kept going forward in her years (3rd runner up, 1st RU twice then won), Brooke was third RU, then 1st RUn than won. So the pattern was always forward but these others girls are going backward.. I will also say this Stephanie's styling in 2003 was off, just did not look the same as 2002. The production was same as always, nothing different same old style. Each year I keep hoping things will be updated. Maybe with a move to a new location things will change. Did you hear Mandy begging for a new location? Apparently, as of right now there is not one. Now I know the exact same girls are not in it each year, but most of you tape the broadcast or purchase tapes, look back and you will see what I am saying. Each year we see the same thing. I heard them say there 111 girls this year. That is down some 25-30 girls. Maybe the girls are tired of it too. Way too much money to spend to be hidden the entire telecast. since I was only able to narrow it down to the 16 best packages...some were great in one or the other, but these were the ones that were packaged the best...here they are ...in no particular order....

Austin- not crazy bout the hair but looks good all-around

Central Texas- this girl just emminates in all of her pics and worked it on the stage

Dallas-The younger campfield has looked good around, might be too young, but looks ready to me

Dallas County- great body, ok dress, statuesque, if only she didnt come across so harsh, but great movement

Ft Bend County- can see the improvements

Harris County- Meemaw hit it when she said , the most beautiful

Houston- her swimsuit is what gets her in

Lake Austin- nice SS, gown may hurt her in semis

Montgomery County- great all around, keep the mouth opening to a minimum please!!

North Central Texas- Ferosh Gown!!!..looks good, lets hope she can answer questions without looking petrified..although my sentimental favorite!!

Port Laredo- if she wins will they please fix her teeth, i really think this keeps her from being the perfect package.

Lewisville- very pretty girl, nice grecian goddess gown, nice body...could surprise.

North Texas- another blonde, yet different, like what I see.

North Dallas County- has crystle's dress in a different color, she pulls it off.

Bayou City- she is out to prove she was no fluke..best SS body IMO, and great dress, sleeves and all, not the prettiest in the bunch but will contend.

Bell County- My Darkhorse...she has looked good this week ,and she is smokin in SS, wouldnt be surprised if she got called.

On The cusp (wouldnt be surprised to see them slip in):

Bexar County- GORGEOUS DRESS- she looks great in it, but there are way more blondes that stand out

South Texas- great body, love the red of the gown, wears too much makeup though, makes her look harsh.

South Central Texas- how could I not include her you ask?? well she was beat out by about 30 girls in swimsuit and that dress is wearing her. Again she is beautiful, so I would not be surprised, but I wouldnt have voted for her if I was a judge.

Lake Travis- engaging and great smile, wish she would have worn a different gown, cause great in SS

Coastal Bend- Fierce in SS, gown boring, pretty but not beautiful

El Paso- looks too young, although does give off the vanessa minillo vibe which could work to her advantage.

Ft Worth- great gown, but again, many more girls better in swimsuit

DFW- height helps, dress was not the best color for her. pretty girl

Centroplex- needs another year to perfect her body, and work on makeup that blends better with her skin tone...she will contend in the future.

Capital of Texas- Austin has the future of Miss Texas USA's in their arsenal, another girl that needs a little more refinement, this one could be a beauty to be reckoned with in the future.

Heart Of Texas- she has made such a wonderful transformation throughout the years, but that dress will likely be her downfall, looks great in SS though!!

I wish all the ladies the best of luck tonight!...Its anybody's ballgame at this point.

P.S. Kudos to Mcallen on that gorgeous dress, she really looked good in it, and Kudos to Miss Travis County, I like her spunkiness at pre-lims.

Harris Co. - Brooke Daniels is going to take it. Port Laredo 1st Runner-up, S. Central Tx. 2nd Runner-up, Montgomery Co. 3rd Runner-up, N. Central Tx 4th Runner-up. I only saw one comment concerning coastal plains' dress however I think it is a great color for her however it makes her look stocky. Her body is off somehow. I am not trying to be mean but she is out of proportion...head to body to legs. she is very beautiful but having watched her in several pageants she gives the impression that she isn't there to win...just place or show. She does appear to be giving more of her personality but I don't think she is a well rounded girl...college is iffy, volunteer work out the wazoo but no real world experiences and it shows in her confidence level.
