- P.S. I have long ago aged out!!!!! (NT) -- DMM, 04/12/08 5:30:01pm
- Absolutely Brooke Daniels! Did you see her on TV last night? The Today Show had the clip of her on it's highlights this morning. My money is on Brooke! (NT) -- !!!, 04/12/08 9:31:02pm
- Pro Looked Ravishing last night! (NT) -- Pro Fan, 04/12/08 11:13:40pm
- Heard Valerie Pro, Lauren Sapaugh, Lindsey Harvey, Sarah Boehner and Brooke Daniels. Anyone else?? (NT) -- !!, 04/12/08 11:15:52pm
- Lindsey Harvey, imho. (NT) -- DJS, 04/15/08 10:21:58am
- I think for USA next year, it will definitely be the blondes. (NT) -- Pick a good one with a chance at USA, 04/15/08 12:15:33pm
- HOW OLD IS BROOKE? (NT) -- Curious, 04/15/08 6:43:15pm
- okay it's time to be blunt and honest and give you delusional people (those who suggested Harvey, Sapaugh and Boehner) a reality check. The only 2 girls coming back this year that would stand a chance to do squat at Miss USA and potentially make it a back to back repeat for Texas are Valerie Pro and Brooke Daniels and that's it honies! If any of those 3 girls you mentioned get crowned were either looking at clappers or nothing past top 15! There are girls in every cycle of contenders who do consistently well at Texas by placing at the semi's year after year but will never have the goods to actually win, and those are just 3! (NT) -- ROSEANNE ROSEANADANA, 04/15/08 11:28:09pm
- For once I agree with you Sapaugh was a fluke, Boehner is a pretty girl but not a Miss Texas, but Harvey could do it with the right gown and look (NT) -- Brooke and Lindsey fan, 04/16/08 12:02:25am
- I disagree with you Virgina Roseanne Slimms, as long as people like Mississippi and California can make the semi cut, then I have faith in other girls here in Texas. In addition to those 2, Candace Campfield, YES Sheena YES I SAYS SHEENA, Tiffany Saylor, Alexys Currie can all do well at USA.. i may be forgetting a couple more, but some of those girls at USA wouldnt even do well at Texas (NT) -- Dude In Texas, 04/16/08 3:11:56pm
- I am not sure Harvey can win USA, but the question was who can win Texas. I think Harvey can do it. (NT) -- DJS, 04/16/08 3:46:37pm
- I am afraid that Brooke would fall victim to the same fate as all those beautiful blondes that Oklahoma has been sending.... and lest we forget the lovely Miss South Carolina Teen USA. (NT) -- Lubbock girl, 04/20/08 7:17:15pm
- I still think that Candace Campfield will be up there as long as she isn't as robotic like the last time she competed. She has the All-American look and the most experience coming into competition this year. (NT) -- ..., 04/16/08 12:37:17am
- I think Sarah could do really well if she would step her game up. She is very pretty and sweet, but shes young and shy. (NT) -- ------, 04/16/08 12:39:08am
- I agree with RR. There are only a couple who will even stand a chance at USA. This definitely goes beyond Texas USA. (NT) -- My Opinion., 04/16/08 4:26:36am
- I also feel, that even though she may be be on the young side that give it a few years and Tahnae will be up there. (NT) -- Tx has alot of diamonds that need a little bit more polishing, but we've got great contenders!, 04/16/08 9:49:52am
- We also have Britney Tiner, Michele Cude, Lauren Sapaugh, Taylor Britton. And the list goes on (NT) -- Come on .... there are more girls that just Brooke and Valerie that could, and would, make TX proud at Miss USA!!, 04/16/08 11:22:30am
- Tiffany Saylor- I can't wait to see her back on that stage! Go Tiff!!! (NT) -- TxFan, 04/16/08 3:13:51pm
- Ok people. I think you should start big and work your way small. Who does everybody think will be in the Top 15 this year? (NT) -- Then narrow the playing field., 04/16/08 3:14:26pm
- Why would we want the exotic look when they will represent the USA. Go All American looking girls!!!! (NT) -- JMO, 04/16/08 4:01:28pm
- Reposting smaller pictures of Brooke and Valerie. Please be courteous to those with dial-up and refrain from posting large images. Thanks!
 (NT) -- TxModSquad, 04/16/08 4:05:44pm
- Miss Houston will be top 5 for sure! I just read about her on the Houston website. She sounds amazing! She's beautiful too! Any feedback?
(NT) -- !, 04/16/08 10:26:58pm
- Just to clear up some racial generalizations. Blond hair and blue eyes is not the "American" look. Many brunettes and redheads also have that "American" look you refer to, since we are a melting pot. Also, just because someone does not prefer an exotic look does not make the poster a racist. We all have looks we like/dislike, and it does not make it racist. However, ATTACKING posters in this manner than simply choosing to ask them to explain what they meant would cause a lot less arguments and tension on the board. SO PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL and not take a person's opinion personally. If you need someone to take a look at a post, please write to the ModSquad or taking it offline. Arguments stop the board in its tracks because it causes intimidation. Please try and be mature and thoughtful about others on the board. (NT) -- TxModSquad, 04/17/08 3:09:02am
- I must say I will be so glad when some of these girls age out. They come back year and year, most will never win, but they get all of the attention. Of all of the girls mentioned here, I can only see maybe one or two who would be worthy of the Texas crown. Crystle's was a Cinderella story, but it won't happen again anytime soon. (NT) -- Need new blood., 04/17/08 11:14:46am
- I guess I don't understand. If a girl comes in, new or fairly new, is beautiful, smart, in good shape and has all the pluses, why would Texas be so different in the "pay your dues" thing? "Pay your dues" doesn't always assure the best girl goes. I've been hearing it said about state and different local pageants that "well - it's so and so's turn". I know this is just a saying but it does seem to be somewhat true with a few exceptions. If you look at some of the boards (even the bubble board) everyone seemed pretty sure that USA would be Crystal. I watched the pageant and Crystal should have won but everyone seemed to know. I hate to think that some of these things are predestined or "fixed" but sometimes it sure seems as such. I'm too new to the system to even come close to knowing about these things. Am I totally wrong? I don't mean to get anyone upset - this is just an simple question. Please don't get all bent out of shape - just an answer or opinion, please. (NT) -- ., 04/17/08 1:42:37pm
- Personally I don't buy into the whole "Pay your Dues" theory. While it may appear some years that one has to compete numberous times before winning, the fact of the matter remains that the judges are instructed by the directors as to what they are looking for that particular year based on what MUO tells them. Being comfortable on stage is absolutely important, and a lot of times that comfort is gained by experience, however it is not "required". My response to your question about Crystle is simple: She was a favorite for Miss USA from the time the Miss Texas USA crown was placed on her head! She was well prepared, and a lot of people had high expectations and in the end, she did not disappoint. Every year we always hear that the pageant was rigged for a particular young lady to win, supported by their "conspiracy theories". Truth be told, the system is fair, and always has been. (NT) -- CC-P, 04/17/08 2:52:48pm
- THIS was Crystle's year and she 100% won USA because she was the best one on the stage. Yes, she has tried many times, but that doesn't mean she won Texas last summer BECAUSE she has tried many times. I personally do not know of a state winner that won because she "paid her dues". I do not believe that is the way it is in Texas. I get alittle tired of those who may say someone "deserves" the crown because they have competed alot. It doesn't matter how many times someone competes, it matters who brings it to the competition, newbie or alum. Now, Texas is such a big pageant state that many girls just keep competing because they enjoy the competition and all that goes with it. But, I believe IMHO, Crystle won USA fair and square. (NT) -- It's fair and square!, 04/17/08 3:03:35pm
- Okay, I see - now that I agree with. I do know that at each pageant some girls just get better and the younger ones get more mature so that they can better handle the pressure. Thanks. (NT) -- ., 04/17/08 3:38:54pm
- I think everyone agrees that Crystle should have won. Now, here is another question. I keep hearing over and over again about the winners are chosen based upon what MUO is looking for that particular year. Exactly what does that mean? Do they specify hair color, race, things of this nature? If this is the case, maybe they should have a casting call with the specifics instead of a pageant. (NT) -- Totally confused, 04/17/08 3:39:29pm
- Is Trump going to decide what they are looking for and what kind of input is he going to have? (NT) -- ., 04/17/08 4:09:25pm
- For this topic to have grown so long with different issues in the middle it obviously goes to show that there are alot of concerns out there. Whether from contestants, parents, or directors there are some issues that people needed to speak about. I think that for people to say this topic makes them ill/sick and doesn't offer any advice or reassurance doesn't solve any of the concerns. (NT) -- I support this thread and the people who have the ability to raise the questions mentioned. Even if as anon this topic wouldn't have grown if these issues didn't make people think twice., 04/20/08 5:01:18pm
- well just like people speaking freely in this thread, others are free to say that they are sick of it. And no one is mandated in here to give advise. Are you directing this post to a specific someone? (NT) -- ., 04/20/08 6:13:02pm
- No, I completely understand why you would want to ask a question like this. As a new contestant, you get hit with opinions from parents, friends, directors, pageant coaches and strangers here on VOY all with differing opinions and it confuses you. You search for the magic recipe and naturally ask this question. I don't blame you. I did it too. People told me I had to wear this dress, walk like that, say this answer, be this dark, you need a six pack, no you're too muscular, bleach your hair no dye your hair no pouf it out no slick it back.. argh! By the time I figured out MY recipe and stopped listening to everyone, I had already aged out. My rant was to hopefully prevent one of you from falling into this trap too. (NT) -- Haute Chocolate!, 04/21/08 11:03:39am
- I hope one of the girls referred to as "old" does win. The girls that do so good consistently seem to be our best chance at USA. Any one of them would represent TX well. (NT) -- this is my opinion..please do not bash..just give your opinion as well., 04/22/08 5:07:20pm
- I wish Lauren Adkins would give it another try (NT) -- sad to see her go, 05/ 5/08 5:42:09pm
- I know this is kind of random for the topic, but who is NOT coming back? I have been making a list in my head, and here is what I have so far. These girls are either taking a break or have aged out from last year. Please feel free to add on or subtract to this list if anyone knows otherwise. (NT) -- Mandy Grisham, Elisse Banks, Alexis Currie, Alison Seale, Julia Salmon, Lauren Adkins, Noelle Webber, Rula Khoury, Lesley Chavez (?), Emeraude Toubia (?), and Kristina Baum., 05/ 5/08 6:06:04pm
- Emaraude is currently top 6 right now. Mind you this competition started on the show with 75 girls and before that she had to be selected from a prelim. This show is broadcasted every Friday night at 9pm and the viewers can to vote for their favorite young lady. Em has done an amazing job the past 2 months out there in Miami, Fl. (NT) -- Tune in tomorrow May 9th so that you can vote for her after the show. Go EM!!! RGV fan, 05/ 8/08 9:50:30pm
